Make them take a day in court. That is a hell of a lot more intimidating then a couple hundred dollar fine. The public lands regulation is just that, it is not the fisheries act. I'm not a lawyer, but the regulation seems pretty straight forward that you will not be on the bed or bank of a river with a tired vehicle, it does not mention harm to fish and fish habitat (which would apply under other laws). Not sure why the F&W would worry about that, as is it his job to determine effects of damage? It should be a court appearance regardless.

. Sure, i'll agree with that, as long as it's not negatively affecting watersheds, water quality, and generally extremely low impact users (e.g., hikers, fishers, etc). The ones that actually do it legally are not the problem, and unfortunately are going to get stuck into the same camps as the bad apples. However, if a small group of people weren't causing a disproportionate amount of damage to the environment, I can bet that people would care a whole lot less.

It's a wildlife refuge (Poplar Island). They really cranked up the signage this past year on it. Think it's good nesting habitat for birds, coyotes and deer calving area. People ignoring signs... That one I think we both know why. Personally I don't see an issue with people parking and fishing on it, but shouldn't be wading/walking above the high water mark. It's a pretty decent fine if you get caught on it, high water or otherwise

It's always present, shows up with high stress (and lots of rainbows have it now following the spawn, and can recover)

maybe we're returning to a normal level of magpies and crows, since there's less of them being shot for being 'annoying' yikes

I didn't have an issue just taping the *hit out of the new wires to the old wire when pulling through the tube. Go to town with the tape and you'll be fine If you feel resistance, stop!

That gravel in high water, moves downstream and donates spawning gravel into the system. If you've looked at that bar since the last two years of low water, it is virtually concrete from the number of vehicles that have been on it. That gravel also has had redds on it in the fall in the in previous years. It's not inconsequential It also sets a precedent. If it's allowed here, why not just do it anywhere? Simply put, it is illegal to be on that bar unless you're launching a watercraft with a tired vehicle. If people can't have a brain in an extremely high visible location, then what are they doing down at Mac or Policemens. Hell, this makes the access groups job a lot harder, as they have to be able to indicate that this same issue won't happen elsewhere.

they likely won't be able to place blocks within the bed, as it will cause a potential hazard to navigation in higher waters. Add in the city and their safety requirements and it'll never happen

Considering the number of drift-boaters that seemed that they just HAD to get in that rip-rap bank upstream of the bridge and went way upstream to launch every morning.... we reap what we sow.. Hope this makes a few people realize just how temporary all these launches are, and we should have a bit more respect for what is provided to us

Apparently a massive dump of water to go through the elbow the second week of May.. Just in time that if there were any rainbows spawning, their fry will be smoked by a 2 cms to 100 cms difference
