CPX's are great sticks, i've had a few and was happy with them. If you are a Sage XP fan, you will be happy as the taper is a XP taper and you will notice that they are close to the same feel

I can't imagine what is wrong with that pic. THe contrasting colours are not what we as anglers are used to but I think it looks awesome

No update and the chain has been locked for several days. I think everyone concerned should drop a line to your local council person and ask why the city spent 6.4 million (budget) and there is no access until 6.5 - 7 K down stream at Glenmore http://www.calgary.ca/General/Pages/Calgary-City-Council.aspx Myrna Dube is in charge of the project maybe she can shed some light mdube@parksfdn.com

Official Oilers 2008/2048 Season Thread
Jayhad replied to darrinhurst's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
What do you think they will rename the oilers when they are relocated into seattle.... hahaha -
I am not a fan..... Where's this change theme button?

Depending on where you fly out of if they don't have one of the bomb sniffing machines they will deny you lines if they are in your carry on.

I'm confused it's too clean looking

I think the launch below stoney trail is the one you are talking about? It has a post padlocked in the middle of the launch enterance and with that launch you would take out at sholdice park or glenmore if the 17th/blackfoot launch is closed
-
So as some of you know this spring there was a chain put across the entrance of the 17th/Blackfoot launch, a launch that many Bow river users utilize, regardless of activity. After a lengthy process I was contacted by the person who oversees any issues of park usage for Calgary, he works for Alberta in parks not for the city. He stated the chain was put in place "illegally" by Paladin security and it would be removed. Well it was removed for a while but in august a new chain was in place and the old one was down the dirt road in a pile. So I drove through the barkmulch in front of the condos, probably shouldn't have done it but "a man's got to Julien." After a week or so of this i was confronted by a Paladin Security person stating I couldn't drive through the "garden." I responded with Paladin security can't deny access to the public green space. This arguement on for a while until she told me that the week before a truck towing a drift boat tore the chain down and put up their own and it was making things diffucult for the construction company. I'm surprised they didnt have it removed. Four days past and I went to the launch and the chain was removed, i figured problem solved. So long story short today a "constable" leaves a message on my cell saying I can't use that launch anymore, and that the chain is for police and fire access only. I have a real difficult time believing it was a cop, my reasons are; 1 - in all my dealings with getting the chain originally pulled down i was told by the alberta park boss that it is a provincial public launch and green space therefore access can't be restricted. 2 - in all my dealings with getting the chain originally pulled down i was told by both police and fire they use the large white gate with PROPERTY OF THE CITY OF CALGARY. for police, fire and ems usage only. 3 - called on my cell phone..... which is in my wife's name so i get the super deal because she is an employee of the provider. 4 - he didn't use my legal name, which every officer i've ever dealt with has. 5 - he didn't leave any contact info, no badge #, no district. I'm going to report this to the police, the alberta parks, and the media. If this isn't a prank we must show our displeasure, our access has been taken away at Bearspaw, and now the only launch between Shouldice Park in the NW and glenmore is being restricted. Those of us that own drifters, go on drifts, use pontoons, or rafts must come to action. Call or email your council person, FaceBook this and Tweet the mayor. With this being a local issue we can bring pressure on OUR elected officais and produce change much easier than this being a provincial or federal issue. Rant over. Jay

Here's a clip of one of my all time best friends, Jeff and I grew up together working and guiding for Hub Sports. Delivering trophies like this is why he is one of the most sought after Fraser guides. http://bc.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=769546&a...288381481237582

depending on the quality of the lead and the alloys in it, it may outgas when baked and this will cause pin holes in your powder coating but it is completely possible.

more importantly where did you find kettle bells in Calgary I want to buy some
-
Ya because Koreans don't know how to use a zipper... lol 420 complained about the actual zipper failing, a third party provided product to both wader manufacturers. Geographical location of installation of the zipper has nothing to do with the zipper failing....
-
Never going to happen, we can't get more enforcement and the gear chuckers are way more organized than fly fisherman. Haven't you heard you just can't tune a rap correctly unless you have the trebles on
-
Don't think so, both use the exact same Riri Storm zipper
-
Why? wouldn't you rather see the river made C&R, with no bait fishing? What benefit do you think you would see going to single fly?

I've got the Sonics in both pants and waders, I haven't worn my waders since april. The pants are way more comfortable, but they do look like mom jeans. The sonic pants are made with less layers than the sonic waders so they are lighter wieght all the way around. I think if you do the winter fishing thing you may want waders as they will be way warmer. I find the pants much more comfy in my boat while rowing. The only con I've found is there isn't really any where to put all the crap you carry in your wader chest pockets.

I'm a huge fan of Chota's, I get a lot of time out them (over 250 days) at a fraction of the cost of other manufacturers. The boots are made out of leather, but they do have "felt" soles.... the soles are polypro and last forever plus you can put cleats in them.... they actually come with cleats. http://chotaoutdoorgear.com/shop/%E2%80%9C...s-wading-boots/

well maybe not but a neat read about parasites making hoppers commit suicide by drowning. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/20...rmparasite.html

Couple of things.... a guide only makes 2500 a week for a maximum 16 weeks, then you have to get a real job, or we could take a lesson from you folks and just go on EI for the rest of the year Those aren't steelhead in the great lakes, they don't migrate to the sea and only a person who hasn't caught real steel would argue they are. complaining on a public forum about the down turn of our fisheries is a positive step in the right direction and with advent of the internet and the ability it brings to empowering groups like ours perhaps our loved Bow won't go the way the fishery has on the Miramichi with all the days you've spent on the Bow I would have thought you would know what way a boat traverses a river
