  1. Pete, I don't have a 486 LL when you dump it let me know. I find them very similar to the newer ZXLs and yes that's an excellent dry fly rod. I like the old 3 pieces
  2. I have heard this rumour as well, I'm pretty darn excited. I love fish tales but it's pretty far away, there, shop and back on a saturday I have to expect on 2.5 hours.... Fishtales is one of the best fly shops anywhere.
  3. Congrats, you have to love the browns, each one with it's unique markings, awesome
  4. I was trying to convince the wife that I needed a new 8 - 10wt for tarpon and while cleaning the fishing room we found a 486 RLP that I have NEVER used. My chance at getting a new salt water stick disappeared.
  5. What about a heavy stick for throwing streamers? It will never stop, I'm very seriously thinking of buying a Sage One 390 this week, my 4wts and 2wt just are to light or to heavy
  6. There is some evidence coming to light that ingestion of marijuana can help with vertigo...... burn one Rick
  7. I've noticed the same thing Hawg, weird how the brain works eh? For night time if I am nymphing I use black...... sounds wierd but black is the easiest for me to see at night.... besides the glowing ones. Try black at night

  9. Rick, With the uncertain future of our dirty tar sands oil are you venturing into music promotion
  10. Love the Bruin, the rainbow well that's just a dirty bow
  11. yes if you aren't on the bottom you are wasting your time.
  12. Yes, until the button freezes in the winter
  13. I just recieved bass pro's flyer and they have some great deals on combos and waders this week. I'm a pretty big fan of the redington sonic waders.
  14. Sorry for offending you dude, I was just relaying info that I have read
  15. Becareful, you don't want to rock the boat http://flyfishcalgary.com/board/index.php?showtopic=19208
  16. it's my wifes beer..... but it sure is tasty
  17. Can and beer bottle for size reference
  18. Bailey, I recently was in the same boat as you, but boxes like Cliff's are priced so high it's insulting, it's a plastic box with foam made in China..... $70.00 HAHA. I headed to Micheal's bought one of their "scrapbooking page storage" and 5 sheets of 1/4 foam for $15. 25 minutes of my time, a little cutting foam and some contact cement and I have a massive fly box.... I'll try to put up pics tonight
  19. VHawk, you are correct in saying it with be harder to swim with clothes on versus without. I was assuming wearing waders vs wearing full fishing clothes. I was wearing a mustang auto inflate, but I wasn't under far enough for it to inflate..... luckily, I would have been swept out of the boat. I was wet wading that day so no waders and no *hit, to much anal pucker. Yes, that crazy stuff called physics....Grinr you probably know it as witchcraft
  20. as said Rio Indicator.. I love the indicator, i find that taper really favours big roll casts and single hand spey casts. I have the indicator on my boat nymph rods
  21. i've seen trips offered for $11,000, so ya big $$$$. I want to do it but that's a lot of cake to chase dirty rainbows
