  1. they have a 16' ish zodiak with a 30HP jet. They like to play hard with their hands on their guns when they are checking for pfds on the section above the wier
  2. When I was a bike courier in our fine city, we would commonly use the U-lock instead of your hand and hit the window not the body of the car. Jay
  3. The province of Manitoba
  4. If you can have a fire but you can't use deadwood, you have to pack in your lumber to follow the law.
  5. I'm listening? i'd very seriously look into this I looked at some housing prices around roblin when I was there this year..... can I just get time share on the shed?

  7. Mike are you looking for one that still holds air?, I assume so. I have a double 7.5 gallon(15gallon) pig that you can have I can swing it by tonight if need be.
  8. Perhaps if you want to replicate Manitoba's success here you should follow thier system, developing a society like FLIPPR would be the first step. http://www.flippr.ca/about_flippr/aboutflippr.htm
  9. Dave good info there, are the MJs glass or poly-carbonate (sp?)?

    Gopro Fun

    Bravo, Sir bravo. That's sweet.
  13. I have most of the reels on your list, the best one in the bunch for longevity and quality would be the 4200. Jbear what specifically dont you like about the Rises
  14. Well, First off Pops I'm not your son, my dad isn't a retard. Second you should start contacting every drift boat manufacturer and explain to them that your backwards thinking has led you to believe that they are all doing it wrong, not just us Bow R. "experts" and how your time on the water, albeit not our western waters gives you the experience that defies what their nautical engineers tell them is correct. Heck you could maybe find yourself in a new job old timer. Third, dig yourself out of the rock you have been living under and find a copy of Drift boats and River Dories, you can read for yourself that stern mounted anchors have been in use in western river boats for over a hundred years. For future perhaps comment on what you know, I don't comment on how to loose your fishing job and collect EI for the next 10 years.... I'll leave that to you dumb Maritimers
  15. Well we re talking drifters which dont have bow mounted anchors, maybe you know better than the guys that make these things for a living and i'll take tungsten's advice which comes from 20 years experience at running boats on the bow.
  16. True that, I lost one last year, where the steel loop pulled out of the lead, and then I lost one when a knot just came undone. Luckily I had copperjonny with me and he likes to swim, so he got that one back and then I found another 30lb lead one, one day drifting.
  17. Thats what i was worried about, the 30lb pyramid stops me fine but i wouldn't mind a lighter one. Mind you the way my 30 wore down it might be a nice 25 pounder at the end of this season.
  18. Hey guys, anyone use a Basspro River Anchor on thier http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shopsreg;-...SSELL_THUMBNAIL I currently use a 30lb lead pyramid to stop my drifter. I was thinking of going to the 20lb river anchor.
  19. I totally agree as well I've wondered who would receive the ticket? The police boat is relentless up there.
  20. If I was hiring a guide I wouldn't be that concerned, if the guide is professional then they'll have their bases covered. Peter say you hire guide A, he has everything you listed, and I hire guide B, he is a hack. Let's say both of us are pretty weak casters and new to being in boats. We both leave our gear scattered around the knee brace and both happen to slip on a misplaced fly box, go over and we crack our heads on a rock and die. At this time from our points of view does it really matter if guide B is unprotected? Would those documents prevented you from falling in? Perhaps guide A would have pulled your body out sooner. Regardless, the reason for a guide to have said requires is to protect themselves, not the user if this situation should ever happen. Ill say this, you would be crazy to leverage all you own now and in the future to some yank that fell out of your boat because he went a little to hard the night before.
  21. I saw them offering that deal on Groupon as well.... It appeared to be a good deal There contact info is on the web page. Ive seen them guiding previously. http://www.bowriverflyfishing.com/
  22. Rods like all tools break if used, just make sure to get a lifetime warranty from a company that will be there when you need it. Bummer CJ but you don't need that pig stick for drifts
  23. Bicycle couriers are always getting tickets for sidewalk riding, but i have never heard of John Q. Public getting nicked by the cops.
  24. I didn't paint anyone with a brush, all I wrote was Upper Red Deer
