Instead of using lead on my streamers I just use a intermediate/fast sink tips to get my flies down cause if a fast sink tip can't get it down then I highly doubt a couple of wraps of lead is going to do much more.

Well I have wrk in retail for the past 5 years and that is pretty much on par, I do agree that if someone has experince they deserve more but my way of thinking is work hard and prove your worth if they do not want to pay what you are worth then it is time to move on.

Did some quick math and you saying you can not live in Calgary unless you are making 935 a week (1870 every two week for 140hrs) before taxes? Remeber anything after 40 hrs a week is consider over time, cause if so I guess I should move into a cardboard box.

Hey rick, I think Bert has like 41 pts in 50 some odd games, I think that says alot there also. Plus, who doesn't boo for a star player on another team? Now I do not agree with what Bert did to Steve Moore but when you allow fighting in a sport then sometimes things get taken emotionally too far sometimes, I think there are players that act like children on and off the ice (Sean Avery) alot of times and NOT ALWAYS is there stuff done about, I just think everyone remebers what Bert did because of the what happened. And hey the fall to the ice broke Moore's neck not the punch from behind, don't forget that, anyone can break their neck on the ice if they fall wrong, now does that mean Bert is innoncent, hell no. Quick edit, you say drunk driving is not intent to harm, well I say that we as humans are educated to the point that we know if we drive impaired that someone could get hurt, just like bert could hurt someone with a punch! -

Its not that I do not care about it, but I do not go around whinning and crying about it. In the NFL there is a saying, the game they just played is in the past and it is time to focus on the game ahead of them. A lose is a lose but does it do any good to come onto a public forum and bash the team that you care about, I think not. That was my point, end of discusion! -

I just love how some of the so called "TRUE" calgary fans get their panities all tied up in a knot when we are losing (Even though we are in 1st in our division) and then are all like yeaah we rock as soon as we win.... As for Curtis I think he has done well, against Detriot, which is a hard team to play against he lost in OT, which for a rookie goaltender (Yep I consider him a rookie cause last year he didn't really play much till he got sent down to the minors so we could have cojo, which really never panned out for us) is something for Curtis to be proud of, there are alot of GOOD GOLIES out there that get owned by Detroit. And not to be mean to Curtis but in the NHL he is still a kid, but a kid with alot of potiental. Like lets really think about it for a second, if he was something truely great like some people would like to make him out to be, then do you think he would be a backup? Right now Curtis needs to grow as a goile, and play more pro games and develope as a player. Also look at how long Kipper sat on the bench before beeing traded to calgary. I think Kipper will do fine for us and if we keep on DEVELOPING CURTIS then we could have a good replacement for kipper when Kipper steps down. -
I also alow my line to dang downstream then just pick the line up and snap it forward to were I want to go. I think using a mid belly would be wrong cause like a scandi or skagit it is designed to cast the whole line, and would be much more underline if trying to cast roughly only a quarter of the head (52 foot mid-belly) apposed to using a scandi line where you are casting roughly half the head. I have been playing around with the Northwest Skagit heads and I like them for fishing within that 15 to 50 foot range. I can pretty much use my two hander in any type of situation but prefeer to use my single hander only when tossing small dries, night fishing when I can't see my achor, small streams such as the crow and livingston, and off the boat. What I would suggest is when Brain Nyskia comes to town for the Loop school to difently take that and if you wish to learn about long lines wait till speyghillie comes. Both these guys have been teaching for a long time and diffently know how to identifiy flaws in casts and correct them. Also there are a couple of guys here in town that could help you out such as Toolman, Max, Cdone, PPK, etc.... Each of these guys have a diffrent perspective on the two hander and could diffently show any new person a trick or two.

Most Flies Lost On The Bow In One Outing?
bhurt replied to chiasson's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
Had nothing to do with tippet, the section we were fishing was just before high water, and still lots of sharp ice in the water, along with alot of shale, most breaks were me breaking off of rocks and what not. -

Going fishing in a couple of hours, usally up at 5am every morning for work, so today I decieded to take the intitive and tie some flies and argue with you *lol* Oh Gord you think someone like Henrick would bran their name to something that they thought wouldn't work or sell? BTW when you come up I wanna try out your HMS rods
-
Gord, Not saying that I know everything infact I will be the first one to say I need to learn alot more about Speycasting, and I said SpeyCasting. What I am getting in this thread is that because it didn't work the first time means you just abadon it? Hell no cause if that was true then we would of never gotten to space, how many people died before the first person landed on the moon? If they gave up the first time then we would still be stuck on this rock, but they took their concept and design and took it to the next level. Just because the Zspey comes with a interchangable handle does not mean that Zspey has no faith in their handle like you meantioned before *poke* but in my opion a clearn marketing trick "HEY TRY OUT OUR NEW HANDLES AND IF YOU DON;T LIKE IT SWITCH BACK TO THE TRADITION" As I see it this is nothing but a marketing trick to get the people that are on the fence about buying one to actually buy one cause now they know that if they don;t like the Zspey handle then they can always switch back to the traditional handle without the fear of wasting money on something they bought (Hmmm didn't I say this somewhere before?)
