  1. Mvadog, If you think nothing happens in American Football or CFL you are sorely wrong. Do you not remeber the crap that AJ Glass did last year with the eskies. Also I played the sport for close to 10 years and coached the sport for 11 years and I know for a fact that there is alot of dirty play in Football, lots of fist fly in the LOS, and in pile ups there are alot of dirty *hit that happens. As for sportmanship what about when Randy Moss pretended to moon the crowd after a touchdown or should I say Terrell Owens, what about him???? Oh and also what about those NBA players that went after the spectators............ I have also watch soccer games where there are brawls with the teams and oh what about baseball fights, bench brawls happen on a regular basis!!!!!! I agree with you that fighting needs to be banned but come on u are labelling one sport when fighting and unsportmanlike conduct happens in alot of other sports. So could you explain these things to me and why they are okay and what happens in Hockey isn't?????
  2. The biggest thing I gotta say is watch out for craves (sp) when walking across some areas I would think it was safe then I would see a small hole and it was with out a doubt 8 feet down... Now we might think its not that bad but can you imagen trying to pull yourself out with a broken arm or leg. Go with someone if anything, and in a couple of weeks don;t even bother cause it will be alot more dangerous as the weather gets better and better, much better to stay in the city and wrestle with the crowds then seriously injuring yourself! Be smart, if your not sure don;t risk it for a couple of big trout just not worth it, they will still be there in 2 or 3 months if that!
  3. Nah dude I will let you deciede what I bring out, I am comfortable using both but you the guide and know better then me. The biggest reason I went to the big stick easier on my shoulder for casting......
  4. Brett, So does that mean I have to whipe the dust off my 9 footer when we go on our walk and wade, or can a bring out the big sticks and show you what nymphing with a spey rod (even though I am still a beginner) is all about? *Grin*
  5. Courntey, I didn't really care for the Snowbee Fast Sink, my lasted me one day before I destroyed it. It could of happened because lots of sharp ice and rocks. Will have to give it another go around in the spring and see as to the durability of it.
  6. Rusty this is what I have found. I have three types of sink tips. First one is a slow sink, second a intermideate, and the third beeing a Fast Sink. When fishing with streamers I will almost always start with my slow sink, I like to go after the most active fish first, usally I will do a down and across type of presentation. After awhile if this is not work I will then throw on my Fast Sink, if I am hooking up on bottom alot and losing lots of streamers this is when I will ajust to my intermeidate sink and just skim the surface of the river bed. As for length I found it really depended on the situation. I own a 10 foot and 16 foot for my slow sink. For my intermideate I have a 14 and 16 foot And finally for my fast I own a 10 foot and 16 foot. Now I can be wrong of this stuff, this is however what I have been finding is working for myself.... Good Luck & Tight Lines
  7. Snowwolf, I belive it is to stop people from Spaming the forums (Stupid replies like LOL on all posts) I use to visit some gaming sites when I was younger and it was a extremly popular thing to see WHO HAD THE MOST POST, 9 out of 10 times the people that had the most posts where these spamers... I really don't see this as much on the Angling forums though.

    Why?

LD, The reason I don't particapate is because from Monday to Friday I work 8 hours and then if time permits in the Spring/Summer/Fall I like to sneak out for a couple of hours of fishing. If I am not fishing and at the ting bench I am usally replenishing my own boxes.... Also I only know how to tie what works for me on the river, since that is why I took up Fly Ting (Sick and tired of the days when I need a bug and did'nt have it and don't want to go the the Fly Shop to buy it.) And in ending I personally don't think I would enjoy it that much.......
  9. My two bits about this.... 1) Glad this guy was caught and he got what he deserved in the end, only thing that sucks is because he was caught in ontario then the fine goes to the Ontario Chapter of Trout Unlimited which if you ask me is stupid but oh well. 2) Lots of people are talking a whole lot and doing nothing, we do have a auction going on right now that can help prevent this kind of thing from happening in the future on other lakes and river. 3) Alot of times I also notice that most Anglers avoid each other (espically the gear crowd and the FF'ers) we need to be friendly and interact with each other so we can spot this stuff and ALL as a FISHING COMMUNITY protect the waters that we enjoy.
  10. Weedy I love it. Only problem I do have with it is that your's is pink and the photo is dark red. Use something dark and it will rox!
  11. Thumbs up Darren, I remeber when I lost my net and I posted on here hoping someone found it and tada some guy (sorry I forgot his name, but still got the e-mail) from the other end of the city found it and dropped it off, right oh. Mad respect Darren I know how it feels to lose something on the river and have it returned by someone!!!!!
  12. For me I spey because of physical restrictions. I have a seriously messed up shoulder which also happens to be my casting arm. With work on a proper double haul I am sure I can get my line out there, but I have to work for it and am extermly sore by the end of the day. Now with my spey I find I am more comfortable and getting to the distances that I want to be in with little effort. This creates some confidence in my fishing abilities which allows me to catch more trout. That is why I use the Spey.
  13. Snowwolf, Last year I went out fishin with toolman, I think it was around -15 and it was COLD....
  14. adc, fine your not old, just well perserved.......
  15. Lonerfisher, If you have a bad shouder (I dislocate my on a average of 2 or 3 times a day, ask my friends they have seen it) I found the longer one hander to cause more pain and discomforte. When I went to my spey and started doing underhand casts and using both hands alot of my pain went away. With a 11 1.2 two hander you are still able to hide in the bushes and cast along the river side while hunting those broonies, or cast out distance when the fish don't want to come in and the beauty part to it all s, you don't have to get into the water, which aplifies the sound of you walking and alerts all the fishies out there that you are on your way. This fall I watch toolman use one of his 12 1/2 on the Crow and it worked great, with the added reach and more line out on the water I find the smaller trout still fight great, its only when you get them into you close that the fight seems to die down. But if you want a great 10 footer and worried about getting it back quickly after repairs, TFO has a 10 foot 6 weight which I used for my first year fly fishing and loved it, I soon bought a 7 weigt and found that it was heavy for over head casting as it required me to use more of my arm and shoulder for casting. I haven't used a loop 10 footer but the opti series looks absoultly aswome. My sugestion would be to see what shops have some demo's in the 10 foot range and go give them a try, and pick the one that gives u the best enjoyment to the type of action and fishig you want to do.
  16. Unforntantly it is true..... But if it makes you feel better adc, I call Gregg Old,am all the time *grin*
  17. I personally don;t care wheather it is a trophy hunt or a good time on the water, in the end the money is going to a very good cause!
  18. I find that sometimes I don't do the things that I should do but try to make it up with other things. Sometimes I find myself wanting to do something but don't nessassary do it. As long as I try I think I am heading in the right direction....
  19. Okay guys, I will bid $275 for the MissinTheBow, "Bow River Nymph Box" and 1/2 day Walk and Wade with Brett. Brett, we can work out the sechedule any time is pretty much good for me.
