  1. Ya they had a bunch of problems last year with their greens were killed in that spring ice storm and the soil out there is hard to grow in. But for a first year i think they did ok. I like the the lay out and there is lots of water but it's not an impossible course it's challanging and i like my score at the end of the day. Iv'e seen much worse first year courses. If your a really good golfer and used to golfing at priddis ya in comparrisosn it's not that great.
  2. Hey got this e-mail from a course i golf at for two free rounds of golf. It is no strings attached and legit. The courses are pretty good but very new: however the price is right so i golf there often. Thought id share. Go here for free golf www.bouldercreek.ca/friends and www.silverwinggolf.com/friends
  3. One of my favorite days fishing was at sunset on a small Alberta creek fishing for 5 inch whities rising to the dry. I like em i think of them as the save the day fish only because theyèr ussually not the target my ideal fish is that 16 to 18 inch rainbow that thinks he`s a bad ass.
  4. maybe if they enforced some catch and release regs on pheasent hunting the populations in alberta would be a lot better and they wouldn't have to spend resource dollars on restocking populations. just my two bits!!
  5. coolest thing iv'e seen this year.
  6. my buddy named his first daughter Marvel....yes after the lake and yes he fishes. Enough said.
  7. I'm a huge fan of the double streamer set up. Most of the time i tie a large clouser followed by a smaller but this spring i was showed to tie the small and then the large through the eye of the small and then when you strip it makes the small swim injured and the large chasing you can also use a large leech for the chaser the leech set up was deadly in slow water. Personally i find the double rig to far out produce a single especially in the spring and during runoff the leach trick is great in the hot summer through slow water with a slow retrieve jumping it off the bottom every third strip and letting it settle. (think leach going after injured minnow).
  8. traditionaly panasonic is "the first" with new technology in this area then the market seems to follow up the next year with technology that either matches or is better or is at a better price. I say wait a year use the camera you currently have and save some $$$ next year and see what the competition comes out with after all just cuz this is out it dosen't make the olympus or pentax any less functional.
  9. they have awesome accommodations on the hill if you have some buddies to split cost with.

  12. I've been impressed lately with some of the things Dave Scanden has come out with you should check them out . Esspecially if your going to be doing a lot of lake fishing. Their method will save you a couple thousand. 2000 bucks buys a couple decent rods.

  18. Same as every year. I'm going to try to explore them hills a little more but as always i know the Bow will win and the hills will wait. I'm a sucker for fish that pull hard and are willing to entertain till 2 a.m.
  19. was it a community pond?
  20. The booths can be seen in about an hour. The reason to go to the the show is because of the free clinics given evry hr. there is instruction from some really great fishermen. If you go to the show with getting an education in mind you can spend the whole day there and leave with twice the knowladge you came with and tonnes of ways to catch more fish and improve your skills. I personaly think it's one of the best things any new fisherman can attend. There are some paid clinics and they are worth every penny. Don't forget to bring a note book.
