  1. I've been impressed lately with some of the things Dave Scanden has come out with you should check them out . Esspecially if your going to be doing a lot of lake fishing. Their method will save you a couple thousand. 2000 bucks buys a couple decent rods.
  2. where did you go? nice fish
  3. Ha HA I can tell your not married. NO woman would allow construction in the living room.

  5. I just checked with the S.P.C.A and you actually can get a free pussy from there they even come with shots. Sooooooooo i don't know what your talking about Teck.
  6. Thank-you for the visual Knottygirl. mmmmmmm jet boat.
  7. Same as every year. I'm going to try to explore them hills a little more but as always i know the Bow will win and the hills will wait. I'm a sucker for fish that pull hard and are willing to entertain till 2 a.m.
  8. was it a community pond?
  9. The booths can be seen in about an hour. The reason to go to the the show is because of the free clinics given evry hr. there is instruction from some really great fishermen. If you go to the show with getting an education in mind you can spend the whole day there and leave with twice the knowladge you came with and tonnes of ways to catch more fish and improve your skills. I personaly think it's one of the best things any new fisherman can attend. There are some paid clinics and they are worth every penny. Don't forget to bring a note book.
  10. SAWEEEET!!!!! Saturday is going to be great, just enough crack to hold me over till the next chinook.
  11. Rick i'm in at minus four i also have a streak to protect i know of two places to try and one that will guarantee a fish.
  12. i was checked this year and seen them checking mostly in high traffic areas.
  13. I must be lucky that my wife can't stand fishing therefore she takes no notice my fishing stuff to her is "That big pile of junk in the corner of the garage" funny she hasn't noticed the pile is four times bigger than it was last year!
  14. Harper needs to go but this way is NOT democracy.
  15. they might work great for bull trout also as they tend to hit the tail of streamers often missing the hook.
  16. WOWZAS!!!! what was the tactic there? And was it the time of year that was so productive? Is that a very popular lake for tourist fly fisherman did you go to a lodge have a guide or did you just get on a plane and giver. Sweet photos. Oh one more did those fish just tear off the line when you hooked them and go arial or did they just pull like a fright train and tug of war till your arm was going to fall off. edit: The fish gods will bless you for sharing these photos with FFC, thanks man made my day
  17. I think i won. Thanks for donating the flies MTB. Rick thanks for taking action for such a great cause. Cancer has affected both my parents, my dad beat it my mom not so lucky. It's sad,... i don't think a person exists that can say they don't personally know someone that hasn't been affected directly or indirectly. I hope as everyone fights and takes action in their own way it might be something we can one day know exactly how, why and control it. Best advice my mom ever gave me............ "Timing is everything". Thanks Rick.
  18. I'll go 70.00 for the flies hoping that there might be an "Eat More" in there.
  19. Rick i think your stash has made you even funnier! (still no reason to keep it)
  20. goood news! you don't have to find a doctor with small fingers anymore. They have a different way to test now.
  21. That was a lot of fun. Truth is i don't lake fish a lot and sundance shared some flys knowledge and techniques that worked well. We found some pretty nice fish chances are I'm going to give the lake a little more attention than i have in the past. Thanks for the pictures and i can't wait to get some of those perch your trying to get rid of. Love the picture of the bassbow!!!
  22. I learned that: -sometimes it's o.k to break the "rules" of "how to fly fish" -Fish will feed until they puke and then feed again.(and other fish will eat that puke another reason for catch and release) -When it's dark out I'm out. -No matter how many times i ask my uncle to come to calgary to fish the bow it's not going to happen till i club him stuff him in a sack and bring him here. -The season isn't long enough to fish all those places i meant to go. -Getting rid of my wife for five weeks this summer added five years experience to my fishing. -When your wife gets back from a five week vacation she expects you to give up fishing. -stay out of the damn water.(till it's been worked) -it's hard to not fish the bow. and last i'll tell a story I had a chance to be in Fish Tales when there was a guy from south africa getting directions to some fishing holes. I got to talking to him and offered to knock off work a little early to take him fishing to one of my favorite spots. He went to fish that day and i picked him up at 3 p.m from the river where he had been fishing all day. I asked him how it went and with a huge grin and in his thick dutch african accent he said "AMAZING!!!!!! it was truly AMAZING!!!! i fished for only five hours and i caught a 14 inch Brown trout!! and i had two other fish on!!!" I didn't know what to say except "AWESOME!!!"..... I mean how many of us would of had that response?.... not me.... that day would have been a bust (as far as numbers go... to be out is always a pleasure). We went to the spot i had planned and just as we got there clouds rolled in and a light drizzle began and things started to cool and a smile came across my face as i saw the migration of tiny BWOs begin. My new friend was very soon into his first bow river rainbow and several large fish after that, sadly as with many new to the bow he had a hard time landing the big fishies, but he was a quick learner and soon was maneuvering fish with side pressure. Again he amazed me with his great attitude even though he had several trophy fish on that day and had lost them he was FILLED with excitement. So most important this year i learned to appreciate the fact that i live 2 min from the bow some of the best trout fishing the planet earth has to offer.

WOW! nice fish!! was it from the shore or from a boat iv'e been thinking of getting out on chaparral but figured the fish would be deep this time of year. biggest fish out of chaparral this year was 8lb (so the story goes) they did stock trips 5 summers ago this being the fifth so maybe they could be that big by now...... i don't know much about trips. what are some good late fall tactics?
