  3. if you do go out be super careful. I waded some back channels last night and they go from 12 inches to 8 feet deep in one step. take a stick with you and probe ahead before you take a step. Also stepped on some sand and one leg sunk up to my hip........ use caution.
  4. i was out last night lots of new back channels and clean rocky river bottom to fish and there were fish rising everywhere. There was also GOBS of stonefly shucks and many skittering across the water . The fish are tired not much fight i caught 1 and decided to leave them alone and went on a loooooong walk. Shes going to recover just fine.
  5. I think that people should have to prove that they have a system set up for their waste if a CO stops by they are required to show him where they are set up to shat and that they are set up to properly dispose of it the forest along the liv is littered with shat and TP
  6. I wish they would open the gate at Mac then we could at least float toons anyone know what the plan is there?
  7. Do you think that SRD will try to do fish recovery by electro shocking some of the stranded back waters? Thoughts anyone? What would be the legalities of catching fish in the stranded back waters and transferring them back into the main river on my own?
  8. Ive got a dump trailer and a big bob cat i would bring if someone organized a time and date and I think we could find donations for materials but the problem is its not something you can just go do on your own there are regulations that need to be followed and its the type of thing that would have to be run by SRD.
  9. i was just there its washed out edit: its under water flowing over the berm.... couldn't tell if its completely washed out
  10. the river needed a good flush HOWEVER not to this degree. Im very sad for all who are suffering because of this i have a friend who owns a bakery in downtown high river it is under water so sad they have put in so much of their time and life and now its under water...... How is it going to effect the fishing? its going to be a slow year followed by a couple years of some of the most EPIC fishing we have seen in a long time.
  11. im in lake chaparral i like trolling slow with a sinking line and black wholly bugger. there are lots of fish 5 to 10 lbs in there the trips are getting huge but i have found the bigger fish like to chase the bugger. They have also stocked grass carp so if you see schools of fish near the shore cruising don't get to excited they're just carp
  12. I think it's global warming
  13. Some flys I risk my life for like a double rig of sex dungeons...... I'm wading out up to my armpits to get that, drives me crazy to leave $12.00 on the bottom of the river.
  14. Rick come over to my house i have an idea that involves a trampoline, swing set and a slip and slide.... Im pretty sure it will work. Bring your video camera, if it doesn't work we could win ten thousand dollars.
  15. I was getting the hook out of a fish and I lost control of it as it took off the trailing hook I had tied on caught me in the finger and the fish was yanking it to get away I was screaming "ow stop ow stop ow stop " got the fish back released it. got the forceps and pulled the hook out then I sat on the bank and sucked my thumb

  17. i have a key........bolt cutters
  18. I am going to go chase some steel this fall and i need to buy a spey rig in the next few weeks to start practicing the cast. Question i have is what length and weight? i am looking at the Hardy zenith 8wt 13ft. Second question is if i buy a spey for the bow say a 4wt and practice with that is it going to cast a lot different from the 8wt and will i not have the "feel" for the 8 when i go to fish for steel? Should i stick to practicing with what i am going to use. last questions the advice i have been given by a very experienced steel chaser is stick to skagit does anyone have recommendation for lines? Thanks for any help. ..... on a side note if anyone wants to take me out and show me a thing or two i give really good hugs.....whaaaaaat?!
