  9. My Dad would drop me and my friend ages 16 off in the sunshine village parking lot and he would come pick us up 10 days later they were best times of my life. Im still alive....... tell your parents they're ruining your life and if you end up on meth and in jail its their fault........Im joking. Now that im older and i have kids of my own i think about my father droping me off and i think GOOD CRAP! what was he thinking....... but he trusted us and he knew we were more than capable in handling ourselves,we always left with a plan he knew exacly where we were going we were first aid trained and we had been running around in the mountains since we were 11 years old, at 16 we were more capable than most adults taking tha same adventures. My advice to you would be to write out and present a plan find out what their concerns are and try to resolve them. However if you cant find a resolve respect your parents decission they have a responsability to make decisions that keep you not dead.

  11. PHW is an Awesome program i am definitely in. Thanks for getting this organized almighty administrators.
  12. i Have brought this up before and had some intrest from jim stehelfox (i know i spelt that wrong) about cochrane lake which is located just NW of cochrane. The lake in the past has been prone to dry up in hot months but since a new development has gone in there they have put in the infrastructure to maintain consistent levels on the lake so that the home owners can have their lake parkland and veiws it is a beautiful mountain setting. There is a road for public access a parking lot would have to be built but im sure could be donated. The lake is deep enough for over wintering trout the only thing that would have to be figured out is the temperature of the lake throughout the summer to figure out if the temperatures stay cool enough to sustain trout. my intent a few years ago was to take these temperatures throughout the summer but i have little to no time to do this. I also lie in the deep south calgary and it is a long way to drive. The idea and projet have fallen by the way side for me but if anyone wants to pick this up and run with it this could be a great opportunity to develop a special regs lake close to calgary........and dont worry PGK none of the pellet fed rats would make their way into other water sheds unless they learnt to fly. Now this all said if there were other ideas put up for a vote and one of the options was a way to increase enforcement on our existing waters i would choose the enforcement....I'm just putting some information out there for people to consider.

  17. Thanks Jayhad great info i have camped on christmas tree island before and the noise from the treatment plant there sucks so the noise from deerfoot would probly suck. I dont really care about getting caught by whomever at worst it's going to be a fine wouldn't be my first not going to be my last. This is still in the planning stage, I have fished the upper BOW quite a bit and seeing as it is really an unproductive part of the river, with smaller fish and the weir seems to take a little more skill than just point and shoot i may reconsider and go 17th to carseland.
  18. Thanks guys I was thinking it is probably against bylaw however i am prepared to work the fine into the cost of the trip if it isn't to much that said i doubt i'll get caught if i do get caught when they are writing up the ticket i'll make sure to ask how much for a seasons pass. Im not super worried about the weir i haven't done it yet but i just figured its like any other white water... hit it rowing and keep rowing hard till your out? Let me know if there is any more to it than that. i may drive down there and have a look before i go through it.
  19. Hey, I know that camping on BOW River islands is allowed below the city but what about islands within the city limits? Do the same rules apply? What is the law? How much is the fine? My reason for asking is, with the wier passable now i am planing a float from Bowness to Carseland this summer and i am trying to figure out where i am going to stop for the nights. Thanks.
  20. Is that including the bazzilions of dollars their government spent to bail out their financial institutions and private sector??? I Keed I Keed ...... Kinda. Hey Uber I listen to CBC to thanks for bringing this into the spotlight the segment I heard was very touching.I hope they find the people to fill the 175 wishes they have left to fill. It was crazy to hear that one wish was as simple as the person just wanted salt and pepper for Christmas I feel bad now for wanting Jayhads drift boat.
  21. Been there... very funny i tend to go swimming on the bow at least a few times every winter.
