  1. Thanks for the replies thus far... It's about 10" - 12" off one of the corners of one of the slabs, so I figure it wasn't prepped properly... As I mentioned, we'll call the contractor tomorrow and go from there... Cheers, P
  2. Gang, Back in October I made an inquiry regarding getting a new concrete driveway sealed... Well, it's only been about 3 - 4 months and I've already noticed a crack (more then just a surface crack - 6' long and at least 1' deep)... I would expect that a newly poured (and sealed) driveway would last much longer then 3 months (I presume that they prepped it properly). I'm not sure of any warrantee at this stage as the contractor originally mentioned (verbally) that he would guarantee it for a year, but that is not written anywhere... So does anyone have exp. or suggestions on what to do or how to go about looking into this at this stage (will call the contractor tomorrow - Monday)?! Am I wrong to expect that a driveway would not crack within this amount of time?! Thanks, Peter
  3. I think my B-I-L picked one of those up (or a similar model) at the Expo - South Bow had them at their booth for $60?! P
  4. Hey Rick, I Hope you are having/had a great day! P
  5. Paul, One thing I will also mention as this rod is for your wife, is that you should try to go with as light a rod as possible... Unfortunately that is usually synonymous with a higher price tag (unless you go pre-owned)... Just my opinion/preference... P
  6. I have 2 Redingtons an REALLY like them (although the cork on my 5 wt CPX is a little narrow for my liking). In my "opinion" they are great value... And from what I understand their higher end blanks are made with the same specs as their sister company Sage (but built off shore). I know when I bought my 7'6" 3 wt Classic Trout, Fishtales pretty much matched the US retail price within ~$20 (and even brought it in for me as they didn't carry that specific model)... P
  7. LoL! I thought the header read "nipples"!!
  8. Lots of good open water in and around Fish Creek Park. P
  9. Paul, What kind of PFD are you looking for? Are you looking for a self inflating one?! If so, don't go used!! There are many discontinued models on the used market that are discontinued for a reason... You & your wife's lives are worth buying new. They're not all that expensive ($100 - $250) - relatively speaking. I have the Mustang with hydrostatic valve ($250) http://www.mustangsurvival.com/products/pr...d=508&mc=27. It can be manually inflated or if it is submerged in 4" of water, but not if it is raining or gets splashed... There was a thread a few weeks ago regarding this exact topic and there are several on the market (CDN Tire carries another brand) Peter
  10. People that don't let you "work in" on a piece of equipment at the gym (especially during peak times, and even when there is a "policy" in place, never mind etiquette or common courtesy)!!
  11. Hey Craig, I'll pay your son two bits for every olive wooly bugger he ties me!! P
  12. I have also pondered this... Definitely no!! It's a "recreational activity"! Then of course you have all the derbies & tournaments and then I think it would cross over into a sport (unfortunately)!! P
  13. Nice ties! I'll take a dozen of each, please!! P
  14. Rob, Done! I can also forward you the info of my neighbor's dentist in PV. PV might be a bit easier (more direct) to get to then Los Algadones... P
  15. A non-issue (thus far)... P
  16. As far as waders go, it is my opinion, that you get what you pay for (as far as fit, quality and warrantee). that being said, go with the best that you can afford! Two of the top are Simms & Patagonia both with lifetime warrantees... P
  17. Yeah the Blue House is still really good, but it used to be GREAT!!! P
  18. Yeah I NEVER buy power tools new!! Always hit the local pawn shops 1st! Talk about a "racket"!! P
  19. When you find out, make sure you hit a pawn shop, you'll save a bundle!! P
  20. Gang, Deb and I are going to be paddling the Bowron Lakes Circuit in August. Anyone been?! P
  21. Yeah, at the risk of offending all the dentists on here, dentistry in AB is a total racket!! I think Deb's uncle paid about $5000 (if that) for his entire mouth... Taco, shoot me off a PM I'm sure Deb's parents would love to play host... Come to think of it I'm pretty sure you'd get along quite well with Deb's dad!! P
  22. Yes, but not personally... Deb, my wife('s) - parents live in Yuma, AZ and travel to Los Algodones to get all there dental work done (as well as all their optometry, etc.) along with thousands of snow birds... Also, Deb's uncle got his implants done there and had a great exp (saved a swack of $$). Deb has only had her teeth cleaned last time down and everything went fine (not as intrusive as implants, I realize). Also, a neighbor got his done in the fall (Mazatlan, I think) and also had a good exp., (even though he screwed up the appt. so they had to accommodate him in another city - from what I remember him telling me)... Lemme know if you want more info... Peter
  23. Not just with fly tying materials!! LoL P
