  1. Yeah I worked boat patrol for a few years and we would always bust the kayakers for practicing their eskimo rolls!! So for other then emergencies (swamped canoes and turtled sail boats), no swimming in Glenmore Rez! I guess dangling legs would be considered swimming... P
  2. So if it says inflatables are not allowed, what don't you understand?! P
  3. boxers, briefs or boxer briefs?!
  4. Within the city or outside of the city?!
  5. I have previously owned a TiCr 9' 6wt. What are you going to use it for?! What is the exp. of the angler?! In my opinion, the TiCr's are a decent rod for a beginner or as a loaner rod. The obvious advantage is that the distribution centre is in Calgary so if you break a section it is an easy process to have it replaced... Also, they are readily available used, (though the MSRP is decent enough) but that may tell you something if you see a lot of them used on kijiji, etc. For an experienced angler I think there are some better options available. That being said, if you are looking at purchasing one, line up a few rods rods different manufacturers within the same price point and cast them side by side, it may in fact work well for you... I you are set on a TFO, a better option may be the new TFO BVK - heard/read some good things about that one, though I have no 1st hand exp. with it, nor am I affiliated with TFO in anyway (an important consideration when people give opinions on various rods on here ) Again, this is just my opinion!! P
  6. Yeah I fish an 8'6" 4 wt LL in a 3 piece as my go to Bow River dry fly rod - The LL series is one of the best dry fly rods out there (according to all the online reviews)... I think the one you list is on Kijiji in a 2 piece - I'd dicker them down a bit though... P
  7. Yeah that's why I purchased a 5 lb'r for my Colman camping stove and lantern - you can at least refill it (only at Cetrex, mind you - not may place will refill a 5 lb'r). P
  8. 30 year old poly pro!! Yikes! Must smell like "the Dickens"!! P
  9. Don't forget a pfd as well Ryan!! P
  10. Bid retracted, the dates aren't going to work... P
  11. Some REALLY nice rods on Kijiji presently, as well! P
  12. What time of year?! In winter (late fall/early spring) I use MEC Expedition long underwear with 300 wt Bare fleece pants & liner socks, a thin pair of wool socks and another thicker pair of wool socks. Works well for me. P
  13. x2 (+1) P
  14. Yeah went with a Costco special ($29) and filled up at the Centrex for $13.64 ($12.99 Tues & Sun). Cheers, P
  15. Why is that Chris?! I have an opinion (which he was looking for) to which I gave... Nothing wrong with that?! The Midge is a good "entry level" rod, but I stand by my previous statement when I say it's a brick, plain and simple! I spent a couple of hours casting different 3 & 4 wts (with my own 3 & 4 wt reels & lines) at the Expo a few years ago and this was my conclusion... P
  16. I'd go 7'6" 3 wt. Especially if you already have a 8' 4 wt. The midge is "Alright", but HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY (and IMHO is more of a 4 wt, despite what anyone tells you) I have a Redington Classic Trout and it is nice and light, comes with a lifetime warrantee and is $160! The others you list I am not familiar with so cannot comment. But see who has them in stock and give them a chuck. Another option is custom as you get better components for around the same cost as a stock rod. P
  17. Haven't watch th episode yet (PVR'd it). The only specific technique I know of Lynn is "bowing to the fish" - pointing your tip towards the water... P *Edit* Sorry I can't past the specific info... Here's what Lefty has to say (on a google search): http://books.google.ca/books?id=naXkqG4wq-...ish&f=false
  18. Only women (and bhurt) tend to match their jackets & waders (or is it their handbags with their shoes?!)!! LoL J/K... But seriously... You should be able to layer under your jacket with a couple of warmer layers, especially if you fish in the Spring, Fall & Winter. It may be slightly bulkier without the layers. Either way it should never be restrictive... P
  19. Does anyone use the propane tank exchange service offered by a number of businesses (Home Depot, CDN Tire, Mohawk, etc.).? Are they worthwhile or is the only advantage convenience to which you pay handsomely for?! Thanks, Peter *Edit* I have also read that you may not necessarily get a full tank with the exchange tanks, nor a new (potentially unsafe) tank...
  20. Cool, thanks! P
