Sorry to hear about Skoah, Duane. We lost our family dog early last summer; there's not a day that goes by that I'm not reminded of him somehow... (Of course, I see him every time I post on here...)

Have you tried asking this same question on the "FlyBC" forum? I asked for some advice on the Cowichan last year (a friend of mine was asking me about it) & found those guys to be really helpful. One guy offered to take him out on the river, another offered a place to stay, etc. Worth a shot, right? Make it clear that you're just visiting; folks seem much more likely to share their hotspots with a non-local.

I got to feel a sturgeon on the line when I reeled in this little one... Wayne got the best of the day; a quick measurement said 52 inches... This fish ain't gonna win no beauty contests, for sure; but, they sure as hell fight hard!!! Can't wait to do it again in the spring; there's a 60 incher out there waiting for me...

I got invited out for a day of sturgeon fishing a couple weeks ago. I had never caught or even seen a sturgeon before, so I jumped at the chance. I headed East & met up with Dale & Wayne, followed them to the launch on the SSR... Following Dale's boat to the river... Beautiful scenery down that way; seems fitting to fish for dinosaurs in this prehistoric setting... Some nasty black clouds went through the area... Dale & Wayne wait for a bite... Fall colors... Dale caught a couple suckers, a sauger, & this small sturgeon... (more to come...)

It's very tempting to say, "You are what you eat..." But, that really feels like it's crossing the line of good taste (pun intended). Seriously, though... Dude, I've read a lot of your posts over the years. You seem like you really care about our fisheries. However, you seem to be missing the gene for tact/diplomacy. Go back & read Dutchie's posts in this topic. If you really care & want folks to see things your way, try adopting Dutchie's approach; works WAAAAY better. The upside is that you could actually get people to understand you point of view on whatever subject you're weighing in on. The downside is that you'd be ruining the enjoyment a lot of us get from telling you what a Edit name calling you are; but, don't worry about that- Internet dumbasses are a dime a dozen & another will quickly jump up to fill in your spot. I am seriously having a huge crisis of conscience here. Here's the deal: I'm going to spend tomorrow in a boat on the South Saskatchewan River dunking worms for sturgeon. I have never caught a sturgeon, so I've really been looking forward to this. But, some of the content on this forum have got me second guessing my methods. Should I only fish for sturgeon on the swing with my 2wt??? It's just that I so desperately want PGK's approval...
