  1. Agreed; probably good to toss 'em something different from what everyone else has been showing 'em, too. Ran into a guy last week who was throwing a big ol' deer hair mouse pattern up tight to undercut banks; swore he gets some big cutts that way. He said he fishes the mouse in areas that have been fished through a bunch & it works.
  2. Sorry, Don; I thought you were hip to all the Interwebs jargon. SBS= step by step (description of how to tie this fly) Looks like a fish-catcher, that one!
  3. Nicely done, Don! I quite enjoyed these three recent posts here in the Photo section. Feel free to share more; an SBS for that BM fly would be nice...
  4. Nice report, sweaty betty! Thanks for sharing that; pretty sure I couldn't do that climb, either. BTW, I forgive you for the length of the post; it's the length of time between your reports that bother me... Feel free to grace us with yer presence more often, dude!
  5. What analogy do we use for fishing a big-arse SJW for cutts? I'll bet it's really sick & twisted...
  6. I be diggin' dat fly... This guy ate one just like it... He thought it was one of these... Great pics, Peetso. Can't wait to see where that old rod gets to on its travels... Feel free to come back and enjoy our end of the province anytime.
  7. Sweet! Beauty 'bow, Rob!
  8. Welcome to FFC, peetso. That looks like a fun way to spend a day. Gorgeous native fish on dries; don't get much better than that. We don't seem to get a lot of content from your part of our fair province; feel free to pick up the slack & post lots of trip reports. The only grayling I've caught were in Bear Pond, down here in the south end of Kananaskis Country. Getting them on dries, in flowing water, in their native range, just seems so much more fitting. Looking forward to your next report...
  9. I think you got it bass-ackwards, me b'y! Newfoundland sends it's riff-raff to Alberta, not the other way around...
  10. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!!! Thanks for reminding me... Note to self: Get new waders.
  11. To paraphrase Roger Miller: Some people catch fish in the rain, others just get wet. My bro' and I hit up a creek on Saturday. We weren't expecting much, given the conditions. We were right. Bro' managed one cutty on a streamer. I just enjoyed the walk... Thank goodness for waterproof cameras...
  12. Yup, that right there is a real nice brookie, my friend. Sweet!
  13. Beauty feesh, Rob! Be careful while floating the Bow in yer tube; it's dangerous out there...
  14. Holy crap, Teck! Where have ya been? Up until a couple weeks ago, you had not posted on here since January 2011!!! Were you, perchance, abducted by aliens? How was the probing?
  15. It used to be a thankless job; thanks to this thread, that's no longer true. Seriously, though... Thanks a heap to the mods & admin dudes who keep place going; keep up the awesome work, y'all! (A special shout-out to SJW for being a fantastic Admenstruator! )

Beauty 'bows, Steven; I'll bet it was fun seeing the backing! Water clarity looks pretty decent...
  17. There's a new sheriff in town, y'all, and he's a long, tall Texan! Nice work, Rick; keep it up!
  18. ^I would pay to see either of those...^ Nice pig-'bows!!!

    Latest Trips.

Gorgeous rainbows, Steven. Can't wait to get back down in that corner of Alberta again...
  20. Autocorrect strikes again??? This post really had me scratching my head, until I figured out that "headscarf" is supposed to be "head start"; too funny...
  21. Great pics, as usual! Thanks for sharing!
  22. I'm overwhelmed by your stoic handsomeness... ...but, I'm reasonably certain that you are trolling too fast.
