Look at it this way: a year from now, when BBT's trip is a fading memory, you'll still be watching superior quality porn on that BluRay player... BBT- looks like a great trip, my friend; I really doubt that the memories will fade any time soon. Anyway, you have some fantastic pics to keep the memories fresh for years to come. I love the shots of the takes; brilliant! Thanks for sharing the trip with us!

Nice report, Tex. Maybe you should get your siggy line tattooed on your hand or sumthin'???
-
Thanks, dude. We only got a few on stimmies & I got a couple on that big foam fly in the one pic. FNG had the most luck on dries; mostly on a little black beetle.
-
Glad you could make it, Mike. Nice to meet ya!
-
Yeah, it was a pretty sweet couple days, Bandi. As for your question, I think it has something to do with the airport radar???

I stayed down south & met up with CF8 bright & early Saturday morning. He was nice enough to share one of his favorite pieces of water with me; boy, am I glad he did! We caught a crapload of 'bows, cutts & cuttbows. Saw some big bulls, but didn't fish for 'em. CF8 fished caddis & Parachute Adams dries all day & landed a whole mess o' fish. I switched up lots & threw a much wider variety of dries at 'em; caught fish on pretty much everything I tried. Biggest fish hooked was a 17"+ rainbow that CF8 LDR'ed. Had a ton of fun in a gorgeous setting; didn't take a whole lotta pics. This one took a Madam X... CF8 fishing in God's country... Got a few of these tiny 'bows... I caught this beautiful cuttbow on a Humpy... Prettiest cuttbow I've ever seen. Came up from below a rock ledge to smash my fly exactly when I was saying, "NOW!!!" in my mind. Perfect! I love the spots on this fish... I had so much fun on Friday & Saturday that I didn't even mind that I had to work on Sunday (the fact that it was for double time pay didn't hurt, either... ) I couldn't have asked for better fishing partners; I'd be happy to share water with Uberfly, FNG, KayakMike or CF8 anytime. Thanks for two great days, guys! (Sorry you couldn't make it, Cheeler. Stupid work emergencies!!! :$*%&: ) That's all, y'all! ('til next time...)

A little out of focus... Better... Better still... Oops! I got distracted again... Don't want to eat a dry fly? Here, try this... Chunk... The end of a fun day with a great bunch of guys! Thanks a bunch to Peter, Darrin & Mike; it was a blast, guys! (Almost done...)

Pig whitie... I walked downriver to see how Uberfly was doing. On the way, I caught this little bull... I highsticked a nymph along these rocks & picked up a couple nice cutts... Here's one of 'em... FNG plays a nice cuttie... The fellas all left around 4pm. The fish stuck around, though... Got some super colorful fish... Gorgeous! (Still more...)

I watched this tiny ant drag this dragonfly body across our patio like it was nuthin'. Ants: they be strong! I fished the Oldman with Uberfly, FNG & KayakMike on Friday. FNG struck early (& often- he schooled us all!)... I picked up a couple on a stimmie... FNG working his magic... I saw some whities in a pool & decided to drift a nymph for 'em. Landed my biggest whitefish ever- 20" & so fat, I couldn't get my hand around it! The pics don't do this chunk justice... (Just gettin' warmed up...)

N.E Calgary landmark @ sunset... First fish on my new Amundson TXS reel... Yeah, there's some flower pics... Hooked up on the Bow... (more to come...)
-
Gorgeous! Luv those colored-up cutties!
-
Saweeeet! Great pics; love those cutties!

BobLoblaw posts pics of gear & flowers for a reason. It's to create a smokescreen, so y'all don't notice that he never catches big fish. Mitchell ain't got that problem... Holy snappin' crap, young dude! That is a hawg! And, a gorgeous hawg, to top it off! I get the impression that you're just as proud as you should be; well done! I'm kinda scared to ask (don't want to bring out the haters & negative crap); did you get a length?

You know one of the things I love most about fishing? No matter how many big fish you catch in your lifetime, under the right circumstances, you can get so damned excited about catching little ones! Great report & pics, Brian. Outstanding! Congratz on your first goldens.

They were looking up on Saturday. They wanted the big stuff... I thought these were kinda cool...
-
Nice cutts, Sean. Sorry, can't help ya with the toad I.D...

A few pics: Monger's brown trout... Even the minnows aren't safe when Monger's on the prowl... Obligatory flower shot... I made a friend... Sunset on the creek... Looks much better without me blocking the view!!!
-
Funny you should say that, Brian. Monger said,"Snag a rock so it looks like you have a fish on..." I said,"I would, but it's kinda hard to do with a dry fly...Ha-ha-ha!!!" A second later, "Fish on!" It was a fat little 'bow; nice of him to do his part. BTW, fishMonger, another highlight of the evening: teriyaki elk jerky on the drive home- good stuff! You accidentally left the last couple pieces in my car. I accidentally ate 'em... Thanks!
-
I don't think that was the sky exploding. It was my head, from trying to figger out what them thar persnickity trout wanted to eat! At least we fooled enough of 'em to keep it interesting. BTW, I thought the highlight was that nice brown you got on your "Anorexic Beetle". Or, maybe it was you putting on that "catching minnows on dry flies" clinic. Either way, it was a fun evening! I don't know if we found the perfect flower, but that Horsemint was pretty kewl; sure had an interesting flavor. Stolen from the interwebs: "Some of horsemint’s uses are the same as peppermint and spearmint and other herbs in the mint family. All of its above ground parts can be used and made into an infusion. This herb tea can be drunk for a variety of digestive disorders including PMS cramps, stomach ache, flatulence, bloating, and indigestion and so on. It is also a carminative which means it either prevents formation of gas in the gastrointestinal tract or facilitates the expulsion of any gas in your system. Used in a pot of beans you can combat the effects of the beans on your stomach from making gas." I told my wife about the anti-flatulence properties of Horsemint. She took GPS coordinates for the area & left; said she's picking it all!!! Guess I'll be having Horsemint in EVERYTHING from now on... (I'll add a few pics when I get time...)

Nice fish, nice photos. Looks like you & your buds are having a pretty good year, Mitchell. It's nice to see the young fellas out there slammin' fish on the fly. Well done! BTW, a couple of those rainbow pics have shown me that I should really fish the damsel patterns that I carry & have never used... Thanks!

Thanks for the comments, guys; I appreciate 'em all, especially regarding Bear. "The one best place to bury a good dog is in the heart of his master." Ben Hur Lampman

Not a bad way to start. Nice cutty. Congratz to the wife, Gary.

Bear was 30lbs of unconditional love, with most of that love being reserved for my wife & kid... Becca took this pic of herself & Bear just a few days before he left us... Becca chose Bear from the litter because he fell asleep in her arms. Ten years later, in a vet's office, he fell asleep in my arms; the house seems kinda empty without him. I'm not saying that Bear was the best dog ever. But, my wife says we'll never get another; it wouldn't be fair to expect a new dog to live up to the standard that Bear set. I think she's right.
