  1. 90% of my brown trout fishing is done on a 4wt, I use a faster action rod and a type 6 full sink and I only fish streamers. I don't chuck big double articulated flys much, mainly just sparkle minnows. Roast gave you some good info
  2. Not going to stop chronic poachers, they don't care about the laws
  3. you have boat launches in the South, there are NONE, ZERO in the north... short end of the stick you say
  4. I think seniors should be charged more, no seriously, why give the guys free access when they fish the most? I think the system should be based on days fished.... and I fish 200 days a year
  5. Don, the paint isn't done yet, but I was going to have it painted in navy tiger stripe cameo, so it is hard to see for the wading anglers
  6. 255hp 11', under 5' wide. Privately held.
  7. Nice Pics Peter, i'd love to see that area is there a spot i could launch my jet?
  8. NO, NO, NO..... use the "maxipad" that store bought steaks come on, it slides under a tent without being evident.
  9. Chris, to you and your family, thank you for all of your hard work for our community
  10. This is probably a good time to discuss the constant push to license, regulate and group all of our guides together.....
  11. There is no excuse, all license purchasers are given access to or a hard copy of the regulations.
  12. I was pretty impressed, Sean Chu called me around 8 pm last night to tell me the outcome of the council meeting.
  13. Great rods so far, my favorite is a Sage 586 ZXL. It has the power of the Z but a buttery feel close the TXL.
  14. If you look at the indi' s taper it is considerably weighted to the head to allow easier casting of a nymph rig, the line is also very nice for rolls and single hand spey. I have them on all my nymph sticks
  15. Yeah I thought that was cute.... Harveys Passage has been "closed" since the floods but I have drifted through there 100 times since.... it looks as though the side channel is getting more flow it might be passable soon.
  16. I've looked at this option but you can't get a trailer down to the confluence anymore, so you would have to work your way up nose creek a few hundred meters
  17. I launch at shouldice and take out at 17th/blackfoot... best bet is Glenmore, but the side channel at Harvey passage doesn't have enough water.... so class 3 rapids it is, good luck. Ive taken out at the zoo, my boat is pretty light and that is an effort, I wouldn't ever do that again.
  18. Ive seen them freeze up in winter and break on many long days, Villageidoit used to carry a spare set of cables they go so often .... avoid boas like the plague
  19. I don't mean to piss on your parade, but a boat launch directly above the passage is a waste of money if no other launches upstream are open. Why would you want to drop in just above the passage, just to float through? The existing launches along the Bow need to be opened prior to any new launches being made useless.
  20. Best hmm, I guess it depends on what you want to do with your jet, do you want to be able to fish out of it on the drift or is it just going to be utilized as a hole taxi? Depending on your answer there, you are either going with a power drifter or a jet boat. For a jet boat you can go pretty cheap and get a jon with a 60/40 jet outboard or you can spend upward of 100k on an inboard. I can't tell you what I would buy because I've just bought an 11' inboard and most wouldn't want a boat that small. The common is 16 - 19 on the bow, next decision is stand up console or seated? And then the thousands of options from there. You can never have enough cup holders and remember on the Bow there is no such thing as to much HP, you'll want it to low hole the guide boats
  21. If fishing becomes illegal due to public license and not the betterment of our aquatic friends, I will become a criminal....allegedly
  22. How about the launch below stoney trail or the launch at shouldice park? Both of these need opened as well as they are the only options to access the water through the city.
