  1. Nice Pics Peter, i'd love to see that area is there a spot i could launch my jet?
  2. NO, NO, NO..... use the "maxipad" that store bought steaks come on, it slides under a tent without being evident.
  3. Chris, to you and your family, thank you for all of your hard work for our community
  4. This is probably a good time to discuss the constant push to license, regulate and group all of our guides together.....
  5. There is no excuse, all license purchasers are given access to or a hard copy of the regulations.
  6. I was pretty impressed, Sean Chu called me around 8 pm last night to tell me the outcome of the council meeting.
  7. Great rods so far, my favorite is a Sage 586 ZXL. It has the power of the Z but a buttery feel close the TXL.
  8. Yeah I thought that was cute.... Harveys Passage has been "closed" since the floods but I have drifted through there 100 times since.... it looks as though the side channel is getting more flow it might be passable soon.
  9. I've looked at this option but you can't get a trailer down to the confluence anymore, so you would have to work your way up nose creek a few hundred meters
  10. I launch at shouldice and take out at 17th/blackfoot... best bet is Glenmore, but the side channel at Harvey passage doesn't have enough water.... so class 3 rapids it is, good luck. Ive taken out at the zoo, my boat is pretty light and that is an effort, I wouldn't ever do that again.
  11. Ive seen them freeze up in winter and break on many long days, Villageidoit used to carry a spare set of cables they go so often .... avoid boas like the plague
  12. I don't mean to piss on your parade, but a boat launch directly above the passage is a waste of money if no other launches upstream are open. Why would you want to drop in just above the passage, just to float through? The existing launches along the Bow need to be opened prior to any new launches being made useless.
  13. Best hmm, I guess it depends on what you want to do with your jet, do you want to be able to fish out of it on the drift or is it just going to be utilized as a hole taxi? Depending on your answer there, you are either going with a power drifter or a jet boat. For a jet boat you can go pretty cheap and get a jon with a 60/40 jet outboard or you can spend upward of 100k on an inboard. I can't tell you what I would buy because I've just bought an 11' inboard and most wouldn't want a boat that small. The common is 16 - 19 on the bow, next decision is stand up console or seated? And then the thousands of options from there. You can never have enough cup holders and remember on the Bow there is no such thing as to much HP, you'll want it to low hole the guide boats
  14. If fishing becomes illegal due to public license and not the betterment of our aquatic friends, I will become a criminal....allegedly
  15. How about the launch below stoney trail or the launch at shouldice park? Both of these need opened as well as they are the only options to access the water through the city.
  16. That's gorgeous, what a great idea.
  17. Redbeard, I think its 25lb.
  18. Yes, I have used it and I use it regularly depending on which pattern and how it is designed move in the water. I use a huge tangled mess of green braid I pulled out of the Bow 6-7 years ago. If I want a stiff fly I use wire.
  19. This is retarded..... turn the flood planes back in to wetlands and let those losers that built in the flood plane eat rocks
  20. Beads don't solve the issue of a triple articulated folding over. There are much quicker options for bull trout flies, bulls aren't hard to fool, that's why I don't use them I still have boxes of dungeons, I use them regularly, they are one of my go to flys. There is no change in my opinion I am just choosing to use something else. In all my time of fishing a dungeon nothing has changed. Typical Bcube, feeling the need to speak but contributing nothing, sad
  21. beads aren't even close to a fix. For this conversation I am only talking about browns, IMO fishing for bulls with a dungeon is a waste of tying time.
  22. No, Triple articulated dungeons fold back on themselves resulting in tangled flies as well as I don't think dungeons are good at illicting a strike, they bring the fish around but they don't commit. I only advocate the dungeon as an attractor.
  23. Good thread, I am really tossing the around the idea of using only two flies when brown hunting this season, one of which is the mouse.
