Never had any intention of doing anything nasty, nor naming sites or names. Just going to ask her if she knew the rules on random camping and, if she didn't, then I was going to inform her. I'm now composing a letter to the gov't....digging out one of the dozens I sent over the years on this subject and changing the names/story. It will go today - or once I find out from my buddy Clive if the contacts have changed. -

I called her work # - she words at MH Remand Centre. She's not on shift. Too bad....I had a whole speech prepared for her. -
I'd be in for this. I've got Dave's address if you all want to join me later on tonite, say around midnight or so? Seriously....I've got an old can of spray I was thinking of chucking because...well...it's just old. I'd do it.

Dave's an internet ninja. We're all in trouble. Seriously...how'd ya like to get a call like this "ya hi Connie....I saw a pic of your trailer and campsite setup on the internet...pretty sweet. I'm guessing it's not gonna be there for much longer if you leave it vacated like that and continue to squat on crown land for longer than the prescribed legal time". On the other hand....I don't have a trailer anymore and could really use a place to stay. -

Wow...I can't believe that is still standing. We paid $500 for the comfort of knowing we parked our trailer in a campground with the knowledge that it might not be in one piece at the end of the season. Can't imagine having the Leggo's faith in mankind that they obviously do. Either that or they've got more money than brains. I've got a big bug/screen room you can use Big Al...no tent, but it's the same idea! -
Awwww....Buster looked like a sweetheart. We lost our golden a year ago and it's still awful at times, even though we have 2 new dogs. The pain never really goes away - just gets less in time. I always feel for people when they lose a pet - it's a terrible time. My heart goes out to you all.

Thanks Flyfisher - I don't know why I put this reponse in the other thread - didn't mean to. But thanks for catching it!

I don't know what kind of drugs I was taking last night but I meant to put this post in another thread....which Flyfisher has done for me (thanks). Sorry for the threadjack!

I feel and know your frustration on many levels. My husband and I bought a boat and chose to learn the Bow from the boat, floating it. It took us 3 NON-PRODUCTIVE and frustrating years until we lucked out and went fishing with a guide. The amount of knowledge we learned in that 9 hour float was IMMEASURABLE. It was worth the $500 plus tip and so much more. We learned tips, techniques, setups, flies, methods from a veteran of the river. I know Max - not as well as many on this board - but well enough to know that he knows the river just about as well as any expert Bow River angler can. Case in point - ran into him on the river last week as he was fishing from shore. He yelled at me to tie on a Chernobyl Ant. The rest is history - I'm sure I don't need to tell you what happened. Pay the $$ and go out with him and listen and learn. You'll be a better fisherman for it - and have a better appreciation for the technicality of the river and your abilities as a good fisherman. The first hurdle is the willingness to learn. By the sounds of your frustration - you're already there. Good luck.

I love how you guys can turn anything into boobies. Just wait a few years and some of you can start playing with your own I liked it on Canada Day as Mike and I were fishing downstream of the Douglasdale bridge. We must have seen 50 rafts of various natures, all containing loud, boisterous and drunk individuals who I hope enjoyed the storm they inevitably got caught in. If I heard one more time "hey...give ya a toonie if you can catch me", I was gonna tie on a streamer and leave them swimming in short order. I'm really hating what the Bow turns into on a warm day....it's getting worse every year. And don't even get me going on the ones that almost ran us over and had no clue how to row a raft out of harm's way. Must be God's way of diluting the gene pool, I think. But what was the absolute best though was the boat that decided to pull off on shore and light a fire. As we crossed the bridge, the fire department and police were there, made them douse the fire and confiscated their alcohol. Classic. And as we were putting away the gear, mommy came and got her sweet little daughter and rescued her from the situation she had no idea how she found herself in. Boo friggin' hoo. Oh ya...and I saw no boobies....we have class in Douglasdale. Well...except for Dave.

Wasn't me, but if you find a big rubber net about 20 minutes from 22X, that'd be mine.

thanks guys - gonna call the dealership first and if that's too much $$ I'll go to a locksmith. I recall Mazda wanted $250 for a chipped key...that's why I thought it'd be too expensive to get it done now. And, Gil, I'd love to give Louise my spare...but we have a problem with certain people in my house (i.e. not me!!!) "misplacing" keys...and without our spare I would be hooped!

I am not a beer swiller by any means, but I had some in Vegas and loved it - sure goes good poolside when it's 36 degrees. I'm sure it would not be as appealing right now, but on a hot day it sure goes down nice. I like that whole lime/beer thing. And whoever guessed the whole Stampede saturation is on the money - I can't remember who it was, but they assured all Stampede attendees that there'd be plenty of it on hand.

I went to get a door key cut for my vehicle to give to our shuttle for this year. Guy at Cambodian Tire told me that he won't cut it as it's encrypted and has a chip. Guy at Home Depot says no way if there's a chip due to the liability with damaging the chip. This is all news to me - my old Mazda had a chip and I got a door key cut for it and gave it to Louise and left my ignition key in the car - like everyone else does. So now, I guess with the encryption for the remote start, it's muddying the waters. I have a Saturn Outlook....anyone with an Outlook or in a similar situation have any suggestions for me? I'm not about to go out and spend $250 for another FOB just to give to a shuttle and I know myself well enough that I shouldn't give away my spare. Any suggestions on where I can get a door key cut or any other options appreciated. Thanks.

Found that dictionary again, did ya Dave?

Keerist that's expensive. No wonder I don't shop there. Guess he must have imported sooner than he said. It's good stuff though if you're a Vodka lover. But I wouldn't pay that.

I think the saddest thing I've read about his death so far is what I read this morning. I guess the incubator of his 2 kids, Debbie Rowe, is claiming that she was inseminated with the sperm of an anonymous donor and that the kids aren't Michael's at all. She's also saying she doesn't want them nor will ever see them again. How about that for leaving a legacy - three probably messed up kids with no bloodlines to who they looked at as their father. And nobody wants them. Wow...what a great world he left behind.
-
That's awesome....another one to add to my brother's repetoire of incredibly bad taste but terribly funny MJ jokes. I'm probably going to hell too - but honestly I feel nothing about his death the way it's being portrayed in the media. I was a fan as a teenager as much as anyone else, but the guy was a child predator, molestor and freak and that pretty much kills any amount of icon or fame he's being given now post mortem. I just don't get how people can forget all that stuff just because he was a good artist. It's a sad commentary on so many things and so many levels. So keep those jokes coming! LOL

Official Flames 2008/2043 Seasons Thread
LynnF replied to SanJuanWorm's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
We watched the draft on Friday night - I bet Mike some $$ that the Flames were gonna try and get their hands on Bouwmeester. BUT there's no way this deal is gonna happen without either Iggy, Phaneuf or Kipper gone. They don't have the salary cap room for what he's gonna want. His girlfriend and family are here in Calgary but he's not gonna come without a high price tag. Frankly, I'd give up Phaneuf for Bouwmeester but how much further ahead are we gonna be in the long run if the guy wants a high $$ long term contract. Just trading a high priced defenseman for another one at this point - but one who finished the year in better shape than Phaneuf. As for Cammalleri - we all knew he'd be gone anyways. Ya...I concur...big loss for the Flames, but it's not a surprise. Not sad to see Leopold go...he needs a few more years to reach his potential still. BUT...we're still all missing the big point here. The Flames need to work on their goaltending situation BIG TIME. I am surprised we've heard nothing about how they're going to develop that - and that's the one area where they desperately need to for the coming year. Mind you, without Keenan the goalie killer around anymore (HOW FRIGGIN' HAPPY AM I ABOUT THAT!!!), it might be a whole different ballgame with the current players. I just hope there's something going on behind the scenes. -
Here's another you fine gents might like to get your hands on. It can't be had YET in Alberta, but I've had a taste of it and it's absolutely stellar. They do gin as well. I'll put it this way though - I've never been able to drink vodka straight without the burn and choke and this stuff was like sweet water - much too good to put in a martini shaker even. Guy who sponsors my wine group is an importer and this is one that he's bringing into Alberta in the coming months. It's worth getting both the bottle and contents. If anyone is interested, I can find out which stores in particular he's shipping to. Retails for about $42 a bottle as I recall. http://www.dryflydistilling.com/about.html
