That reminds me....I get to cast my brand new Orvis 4 piece this year. Thanks to Orvis who replaced the entire rod even though the broken one only had a broken tip. Reason enough for me to buy Orvis again.

By the way....my babysitting calendar is wide open on account of having no job. But I charge $35.00 an hour now on account of the same reason. And is that a bumbo chair he is sitting in already?

If your appt is at the Hitch Shop on 42nd...make sure they put your hatch down before they put it on any lift or hoist. Brand new, 2 week old Outlook and I had a nice deep scratch going from the top of the back window all the way down the hatch...and nobody wanted to take credit for the beautiful artwork. We've had 6 collective hitches installed there - and will NEVER give those ****ing bastards another penny of my money.

I like all of this - I'm all about the black and white - and if you don't believe me, look in my closet. Looks great guys! As for the logo....that's a whole nother process altogether.

I can't believe this is a serious ad....oh but it is. I think I'm gonna order one just for the handy handle super bonus thing. Riiiggghhhhtttt.

Boy I hate to dredge this up and get Clive's knickers in a twist....but....and correct me if I'm wrong....isn't global warming not about "warming" per se but more about extreme and unusual weather/temps - ie snowing when it should be sunny and 20?
-
I can't believe that, in all the time I've spent outdoors, I have never had or even seen one - or had a dog with one. How do you know if you've got one? I better go google this.

When I lived in Toronto, some 23 years ago this summer I visited Calgary. It was hot in Toronto, ergo I thought it'd be hot in Calgary. Friends from work took me to the Stampede parade. It was 1 degree and snowed. I had shorts, a t-shirt and my friend's husband's rain poncho. I froze. Then got sick. And vowed I'd never move here. And haven't we all been snowed out of our campsite on the August long weekend? I sure have. It's Calgary....can't even grow a friggin tomato. And now we gotta wait until July to safely plant. Oy.

I'll be thinking of poor Brian (but not his manhood or parts thereof) and wishing him a speedy recovery. Nothing like a razor sharp scalpel near your testicles to make you wanna get through the next month. Sorry Brian - I'm sure that didn't help. I'll definitely not be working and probably walking my dog to Dave's house so he can poop on his lawn. And I might practicing for that wicked fishing habit I intend to develop this summer

Newly Unemployed - Looking For Work
LynnF replied to birchy's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
Sorry to hear that Birchy....I'm still waiting for my notice - expect it to come this week. I'm almost looking forward to it (should watch what I wish for) as the stress at work right now is more than if I was unemployed and collecting EI. Let me know if you've flushed anything out yet.....our company outsources IT to a group that I've worked with for over 5 years and they may be looking for someone. I'd have to make a call and see though...but more than happy to do it if you're still looking. -
First one to tell me who the very special wish is going out to, gets some free Epicure Salsa LOL Click here if the movie does not play.

Well....I knew it'd either be Clive or LE....and you didn't disappoint Clive so bravo! I'm convinced that you have a picture for every thread, conversation or occasion- I guess you truly do spend too much time on your pooter huh? And, Dave, the party is where the freeloading rodents aren't - the ones we got are taken care of by the gang-style shootings that happen on Friday nights at 11. Feel free to bring your problem gutter dwellers by - no Snickers required here.

How Many Times You Been Laid Off?
LynnF replied to LynnF's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
Yer readin' my mind. Actually....I'm not all broke up over it - and it hasn't happened yet, but I'm pretty sure it's going to (won't tell how I know but suffice to say I got the information through the course of doing my job). Every time I've been laid off, the packages have been pretty thick - one was an "arranged" layoff where they eliminated my position but I worked myself into another one to cover for a mat leave for a year and negotiated my package based on that. The other was a junior that just went down the tubes - and left me with worthless stock options but a trip to Mexico and a few months off. Both times I"ve wound up in better jobs, better paying jobs, and I've been able to say that I'm glad it worked out that way because I wound up better in the end. I'm not thinking that way this time though and that's what has me down. The good news is that I haven't been happy at this job for quite a while so I'll be glad to be gone. But that bad news is that I'm at the top of the range in my earning capacity and the type of job I'm going to be looking for is either not going to be there or not pay as well as I was being paid. The good news is that I'm being laid off in summer and not winter. The bad news is that I'm not getting a good package to tide me over the summer. The good news is that my really great, supportive husband has talked me through this and wrapped my head around going on EI and waiting to find the right job and not rushing into anything and telling me that we're going to be just fine. The bad news is that I have never claimed EI and I have a problem with it. But the good news is that it's there for this reason and I've put into it for 26 years and I think I"m gonna do it. The bad news is that it might not be enough to cover the wicked fishing habit I think I'm going to develop this summer. The good news is that I think I"m gonna develop a wicked fishing habit this summer. All kidding aside, I believe things like this happen for a reason and am a HUGE believer in kharma and will be glad to see some folks at my work get a dose of theirs once I leave. So....onwards and upwards as they say - that's life in the oil patch! -
Betcha can't guess why I'm asking <sigh> So...how many times you been laid off due to corporate restructuring or economic downturn? I'm just about to be on #3. Unfortunately this one doesn't look as lucrative as the last 2. I'm getting too old for this *hit. Thinking of leaving the oil patch for good.

I beg to differ. There's no depiction in the cartoon of: a) somebody picking their nose somebody eating their breakfast, reading, shaving, putting on make up or brushing their teeth c) somebody talking on a cell phone d) a gun This video needs to be updated. I think Martin Scorcese is the man for it.
