  1. it's gay. oops, wrong thread.
  2. some of my best days have come during the most miserable weather. it's always better to get out and give'r a go, that's the point.
  3. i saw some of the events on saturday and was amazed at the poor quality of some of the beats that were chosen on the elk. or was that supposed to be the point- try to fish a big even flat with no features, structure or cover [therfore no fish]?
  4. finally made it into the store as i was in the area yesterday. wow. what a cool store. spent the obligatory 90 mins wandering around. it was quiet & lots and lots to see. wow. rather a lame fly shop. expensive flies [do you think some of the additional costs are due to the upc tag on every single fly lmfao]? not the most knowledgeable staff present in the shop either [when i was there anyways]... overheard: 'dude, what kind of fish is a triple?' 'a what?' 'a triple. these guys said they are targeting triples' 'you mean a triploid?' made me chuckle. n e ways. cool store. definitely worth checking out as mentioned if only for the huge inventory and photos & taxidermy. only place in town that had a replacement cup holder for my drift boat on the shelf.

  10. jet ski/quad thing video will be great on the bow. perfect for all kinds of small hard to reach streams and lakes, etc, etc. quads driving thru streams? not a problem here. can't wait to see a bunch of them out there.
  11. Click here if the movie does not play.
  12. ha ha! i think that's not just for 28's as i've seen lots of 15" "20's" as well love that ffc tape measure.
  13. amen. there's lots of self righteousness here that's sometimes amusing though...
  14. welcome to the jungle
  15. great pix! sounds like a great trip!
  16. another shout out to fish tales here.
  17. it's true that less seats = more bodies and sorry they do not consider personal space or anyone's dislike of cuddling in the calculations. welcome to [c]rush hour in a major city. ya should see the transit system in tokyo. they will push you in if you can't get in. funny thing? ct has one of the highest % useage/population compared to other major metro centers. i do not argue that ct's approach to defining/providing an appropriate level of service, safety and comfort for the $$ spend is flawed: let's make mass transit less appealing and charge more, and charge for parking. and it's kinda scary at times, oh and unpleasant...just ignore that guy pressed up against your side with his headphones blasting that smells like urine...and what's that in his pocket? once again, ya should see the transist system in tokyo. zero tolerance on rudeness, foul language, loud music, cellphones [!], loud conversation, bad breath... no personal space [understatement] however your ride was fast, cheap, efficient, on schedule, and as pleasant as possible considering the circumstances.
  18. i found the thread, lots of good material there... http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread/t-126295.html
  19. great post jay. 'the meaning of trout' is very well put. sorry your gramps is gone.
  20. sorry, you lost me on all the darwinist references. i guess i'm more of a creationist...i'll never concede that dry or die is some higher or purer form, as that would rule out any salt water sight fishing.
  21. i have a ro. it tracks very nicely and is easy to row. i would also say it is extremely durable. they have improved thier bells & whistles since i bought mine used 7 yrs ago. the only thing i wish it had it doesn't are rod holders & sure wish it was a low profile when the wind is howling. but i also had it on water i was glad i did not have a low profile. never tried a lavro, heard they are nice ships. never been in a fishrite either. liked hydes setups too but clack's rowed better when i was doing my test driving. i would have trouble buying a brand new one as just like cars you can find great deals on 'barely used' boats, and for the most part you can clearly see any issues [unlike a car].
  22. anyone know who to raise the stink with to get some for the boat launches at police & get the mckinnon ones repaired/replaced?
  23. that would unleash a shitnami of epic proportions
