  1. i think the conversation was around does eliminating fastfood drive thru's help to control litter. i had anectdotal evidence that yes in fact it had in jasper. which is a park coincedentally, which yes is in a prime wildlife corridor. huh, jeez if the park wasn't there, i wonder how o&g development, clearcut logging and surface mines would help protect the wildlife corridor. probs better? just wondering about that logic.
  2. not seeing tim's cups in ditches.
  3. he talks to me thru this message board
  4. i have friends there and it does, in fact make a huge difference. i don't think there are any in banff either?
  5. sarchasm. oh, the humanity.
  6. rum. i forgot to mention rum. how could i forget [oh yes, i drink rum, that's why]... i really enjoy a good amber or dark rum, and have tried about 40 different brands/types. actually i've discovered as you get to the top or premuim end of any spirit [vodka, gin, burboun] that money doesn't buy you happiness but it certainly buys you a better tasting glass of it.
  7. awesome. good news. so if the cups are recyclable, someone's still gonna throw it out the window, and it's trash. so...tim's coffe cups will biodegrade over time, the lids not so much. same with many other fast food outlets delivery methods. some of it does break down over time, some ends up in plastic island forever [and eventually your bloodstream, but that's another topic]. try counting superstore/safeway/coop bags or macd's drink straws in the bow river valley during the spring cleanup. or bic lighters. or bits of foam from meat wrapping. or the lid from any plastic drinking bottle. yes and tim's lids. and strabuxx too. range balls. etc etc. i'm just sayin don't just pick on timmy ho. he's not the problem, man. i'm also sayin that in general littering is a problem. and plastic, and overpackaging. betcha that with the recent pressure on stores there's way way fewer plastic shopping bags this spring, but there will still be some.
  8. as well as for some ffc board volunteers. i think shutting down drive-thrus, take out containers or forcing them to only use bio-degradable packaging altogether will help too. which there is usually a deposit for?

  16. i purchased this tioga reel from a board memeber for my steelhead trip this fall. first fish it played was a 15 lb chum, and the handle fell off which made for a very sporting fight. fortunately i had brought the spare spool along and was able to switch my line over. the other spool was fine and it landed many nice fish during the trip, this was taken during a day on a remote river that reminded my what steelhead fever is all about.
