  1. that's identical in symptoms & speed to a wicked head-cold that's ripping it's way around, incl. my fam. i literally know a dozen people who've had the same or very similar. also it seems to get better but also hangs around for a week or three as well. glad to hear you're on the mend, but i don't think that's the swine flu?
  2. there are times in other ff/nfr threads on the ffc board when one is given to a desire to express a deep affection for cake, however it is becoming apparent that sometimes the free and open expression of this affection is suppressed, mocked or locked, sometimes by the very ppl who are most deserving of a slice of delicious cake. for those like myself who like cake but are sometimes shy about it, or are afraid to mention it in other threads, or perhaps just want to share the joy of cake with someone but don’t want to hijack other threads, i offer this unlimited cake thread as a safe haven to post cake pictures, recipes, and openly discuss and rate cake of all types.
  3. worm? very briefly. guide commented it could work in larger sizes in the summer... ya it was a really good trip, we coulda used more rain mid week, but i had a golden day and learned a lot more about fly fishing for steelhead. unfortunately however i think i've contracted 'the fever'.
  4. egg sucking leeches were popular for sure. at one access point we hauled the raft down a little creek, over boulders and under logs. it was a lot of work but worth it. we floated and worked about 3 miles of river that day. that was my 4 day. a few other access points were not quite as tough to get down to the river, but we lost about 12-18" of water depth overnight so it got very tough to float and the fish got spooky. got blanked next day so we went back to the tough access spot after that and i picked up one, the only fish that day.
  5. bit of freshie coho action
  6. the first fish on of the trip the handle fell off my reel. that ensured a fair fight. fortunately i brought my spare spool along.
  7. another raft day in the middle of nowhere
  8. we travelled some of the worst logging roads in the area
  9. rainy days are steelhead days
  10. i had the gods smile upon me one day going 4/4 wild summer run steelies on the same fly. all in it was good trip but more rain was needed for the steelie rivers to be a little more forgiving.
  11. some tough access spots! this was dragging the raft to the river through a small creek.
