  1. mmmmmmmmmmm. t&t. pretty. fast. smooth. expensive. not unlike the hot chick who sat accross from in high school. the unattainable fantasy. someday i'll bite the bullet and get one, i swear. funny post mike!
  2. do ya'll know where to buy a replacement seat for a drift boat? the upholstery on the one i have has split, the duct tape repairs are no longer working. and it's not that attractive. it's the center seat [where the slave sits], a low back, steel w/ molded foam. ya know the one. i've been to: wholesale russels princess auto several marine dealers found a few different replacement seats for the anglers but nothing that will work for the rower [which is really the important one].
  3. hmmmmmmmm. i had a tfo with a similar injury. 4 times.
  4. sweet!
  5. i like the 'smaller' shops....maybe costs more but it's about more than just an exchange of goods with many of the better ones. the shop i prefer was really good about a problematic rod i had earlier this year...just goes to reaffirm my loyalty to them.
  6. combo plate 3 & 1. depends on how the action is.
  7. a long story and i need to be really drunk to tell it correctly
  8. thanks for the update. dad said they were vandalizing a church instead [?]. much better. anglicans are better able to defend themselves after all. but i would hardly call the duckin' idiots fines a crucifiction.
  9. true. but there's always the hope that the perps get removed from the gene pool.
  10. talk is cheap. that's the bottom line. like elsewhere, these types of complex issues never seem to progress beyond/deteriorate quickly into grade school playground bullshit. or maybe that's the desired result, and i continue to miss the point. i'm really not too bright. so what's a reasonable solution, some alternatives, and what action is suggested? otherwise i'll take my ball and go home.
  11. sad. really a shame mom didn't show up and deal with them, a pissed off adult moose is not to be trifled with.
  12. very nice!
  13. cool spread.
  14. so would that classify them as hillbillies, rednecks, or a very special breed unto themselves?
  15. finally a vehicle that makes total sense. assume it has some badass audio kicks on board. and oh does it come in black, that's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay kewler.
  16. that's good stuff tnx!
  17. k. well 4 outta 5 dentists/doctors/lawyers will probs pay if you tell them to. if all those proceeds went to raising more funds for proper management and enforcement, i'm ok with a little premium here and there. doesn't have to be as reedonkulous [financially or logistically punative] as some of the bc 'management plans' tho. that's not a good model to follow. maybe it would keep the riffraff out. jk. ya gotta think tho that it's gonna happen someday. when yyc is 2 million people, and there's another 10000 houses lining the banks all the way down to policemans, what impact will that have on the watershed? let's face it alberta's been lagging far behind and been in reactive management mode for how many years?
  18. already flagged this thread as high potential 'good debate' and/or 'good comedy'

    Solved

i'm no expert, but that ain't like no laker i've ever seen. have seen a wide range of colors & patterns on cut/bow hybrids. that's my guess. nice fish! if i had to i'd name him dave, or robert.
  20. saw a dead elk that was completely submersed & quite decomposed floating down a river once [late spring]. scared the crap outta us until we figured out what it was once it stopped in a big calm pool & we got a good look. also witnessed a griz crossing a lake a few summers back. got quite close to us in our boat actually we could hear him huffing & puffing.
  21. when fire extinguishers expire, i replace/recharge them per manufacture spec. i would not test them by use or discharging and assuming they will work in an emergency. bear sprays are a form of personal protection i put in a similar category. so do employers who issue it for use by staff who work outdoors. interesting & informative article thanks, esp. the section about the residue being a form of potential attractant.
  22. not at all...it's a good thing. the whole system was in desperate need of some moisture and a little churn [finally!]. just don't keep it up for tooo long.
  23. nice pix, thanx!
  24. cool, good work! i threw all the same stuff as 'everyone else' for 2 years before i hooked anything on the bow. now i would say i am in intermediate territory after almost 15 years. it takes time & patience for sure...for some more than others. i also benefitted from using a guide a few times and hooking up with some knowledgeable people. even now i learn something almost every outing. and this board is a tremendous resource. to add to the comments above...you had better enjoy & get something out of it apart from just hooking & landing fish. i have some exp. but i just went thru a 3 week slump, this river can kick your ass no matter how good you think you are. but i would never ever trade my time on the bow for any other activity and consider it a huge blessing to have such easy access to one of the most incredible trout fisheries in the world minutes from my doorstep.
