for pike flies i like yak hair the best.. its durable.. dosnt absorb water and come in a long length making it easy too tie large flies without much effort!!!! polarbear would be my second choice!
a good perch tied in a stacked clouser style would be
thin green
thick olive
thick yellow
thin orange
use the sharpy too give it the marks and your laughin!
sorry no pic but she is a pretty easy tie and damn near bulletproof with the yak!
dna is also a good choice for material... hold marker pretty good
i prefer the shorter speys and switches in th 10'6" too 12' range in t 6 or 7wt.. 7's or 8' for switches.... bin loving teh Mod Edit please don`t mention brands like the loop opti switch in the 6 the last few outings.. deadly trout stick for the bow!
im no expert but it looks like that cap is attached too the reelseat.. u might halfto replace teho whole thing.. wich isnt really all that major.. i would talk too wayne down at fishtales.. he has bin a major insight for me on a few rod building related questions!
nice barnes!!!!!!! and i agree with ya! bin tying more tubes in a variety of speys, dees hair or feather wing etc.... mostly one offs and a bunch of the ones i really like! but never hooked steel on!!!!!! itll work!!!!!!!!! just love tyin em eh!
the clw's are a nice reel too.. my mian client reel.... pretty light tho.. u could get teh 8twelve or go with the lower and add some lead tape inside the spool before you add the backing.....
that is some major b.s. dude.. people liek that are unreal.. think they are the next great outdoorsman or something........ if the story is true i dotn really love that dude either! and u got more than a few reasons i suppose.......
ive peeped ema few times! dope idear unless u are on boulders.. u could get high centred.. fout this with any metal cleat and i could see these being a little worse.. snow ice mud and slippery soft bank and you will be laughin tho!
yea that is a good and bad thing.. good because im sure some people need too learn BUT u dont see cops doing that for traffic violations im sure.. specially when the COs need mre funding! weird!
that is brutal! was it the "new" one they were using last year?
harps.. they just started building some freshwater marshes in fishcreek.. 3 large ones... couple square kms each fom what ive seen! lots of signs n whatnot up aroudn the park.. they will be taking out the stormdrains in that area and hopefully mroe as they build similar structures in the city!
take em back too were u bought em... if u do excessive wlking like me sometimes i dont really blame waders for wearing.. but 5 trips seems too be pretty recent.. i just broke ina new pair of waders in 12 trips and 18 trips later have half dozen seam problems! but thats why im product testing em!!!! i havnt fished your waders before but any pair of waders should be good for atleast 5 trips!!!!!
