  1. roflmao! rickr jokes are becoming serious business nowadays i suppose! figure we need a chinook?
  2. u got it fly fisher! fish enough and they get addicted too nicotine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. ive met a few people who use that "un-scenter) deer hunters use then why tie on tehre flies.. not sure if it help mask or kill odor... they do swear by it tho.. i smoke and slay a few fish so im no too concerned... but it might help in situatinos like u described...
  4. nicely done too all! still a day left too enter!!! i will get a poll up on the first !!
  5. track down a shorter head "j man cap" ever find something with a really long taper overline it 1 or two and chop 15 feet off!!!! but i see were u are coming fmo i got a fast 3wt for most dryfly stuff but i also use it on alrger rivers. for cutties i got a mid flex medium fast 2wt with is deadly under 40 feet! personally with most of my clients i find they toss mid flex medium rods way better! than a fast.. u doont want a fast action rod if u are just tossing big loops... get a slower rod and u will be stoked on how you loop improve without changing your casting stroke!.. like peter mentinoed! go out and cast a bunch! dotn listen too what someone tells ya..
  6. im the opposite of jack on this one.. get a intermediate and dont weight your flies as much. far easier to cast and u get your line too bring your flies into the zone.. i think its more efficient and i lose a few less flies this way too!
  7. for someone with a more aggresive casting stroke dude... i like em fast but even with my short stick i still haul once n a while and use more power with my stroke and stops n starts... but if u just want too barely hit it and feather it in there get a slower rod.......
  8. sorry for the late responce on this one ladies and gents, the ffc team got caught up in some holiday stuff and this one slipped us by! we will get the results up shortly! and a few months worth of photo contest in te new year aswell!!! happy holidays yall!
  9. that is insan.. kill the adults with a higher hook mortality then kill the babies too! hopefully the companies selling the eggs get with it and find a new way too cure the roe
  10. hey robert i fish the bow year round.. so do others! there are alot of places if freezes over but within th city u have cose too 10 miles of river that dosnt.. there are iceshelves tho so it can be sketchy.. and if th weather drops below -5 for a few days slush builds up and makes peticular spots hard too fish but inside bends bridge pillars etc will ovver u driftlanes too fish.. and if te weather get above 0 for a few days or we get 1 good day of +4 or 5 the river will be slush free for a day or two atleast! so u can wet a line anywere on that south city stretch! so bring your rod and keep a eye out on here for conditions and watch teh weather!!!!!
  11. ive bin out half ozen times hte last 2 weeks.. fish are stacked deep feeding on small nymphs juans and leeches.. bin doing alright too swingin baitfish patterns aswell mid column! tommorow should be alright but its going oto take a day maybe two (unless is actually hits 4 tommorow) too burn off most of teh drift ice/slush.. later in teh week should be good with alot more open water!
  12. only two weeks too submit this months entries ladies and gents!

  14. and the winner!!!!!! jordo!!!!! congrats too the two who entered!! i will get in touch too get tou your prize!
  15. that is pretty good!
  16. the magic number for a similar switch rod i fish is in teh 300 - 340 grain window.. a compact scandi head would be great! or a skagit short if u want too turn over larger streamers and tips.. what are you plannin on using the rod for would be the biggest question?
  17. i think like u mentioned attacking the retailers would be a more efficient way of doing things.. making it harder for people oto buy illegal products if bans or controls were put in place... like u said tho its easier said than done..... i think more than residential people would be the bigger problemo.. commercial places.. city fields (if they use anyhting im not sure) golf courses would be #1 for me....
  18. sick shots dude!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for posting! the dragon fly shots are epic!
  19. this should be badass when teh stones are out dude! nicely done!
  20. hard too say dude! i guess u nailed it whn we are trying too find the next best thing! for me single handed or spey lines im all over the new stuff! dont really matter!!!!!!!!!! it always cool too get new toys too see if they can improve your came or if they are more of the same.. every one in a while u find a diamond in the rough!!!
  21. epic dude! like others mentioned the smaller lines weights would be kkey! the 380 and the next sizwe up are the tow im looking at! will se u at teh expo!
  22. anyone head much on this line? there are some stuff up at speypages.. should be a gooder for tossing tips and streamers on teh bow with lightweight speys too! wil halfto get my hands on one too see how she performs! stole this off the airflo site... Tactical Steelhead Take the tight loop and casting ease of a Scandi Compact head and couple it to the versatility of a multi-tip line and you have the basis for the Airflo Tactical Steeelhead shooting head. To help cut through the wind and to make casting modest sink tips and larger flies easier, the Tactical Steelhead has a larger tip diameter than the Scandi Compact. With a smooth front taper and removable floating tip the newest two-hand line from Airflo will convert from a floating line to sink tip better than any existing line. The mint green colored heads come in a #5 weighing 400 grains all the way to a #9 weighing 670 grains. Unique to the Tactical Steelhead is the 8 foot removable ridged floating tip. The ridged tip helps anchor the cast. Airflo's indestructible heavy duty loops connect the tip to the head and the head to the running line. All sizes are made on a low stretch 30lb core. Remove the floating tip and connect your favorite sink tip and get down.
