  2. did you find any one to clean up your jeep? I am available all week. matt
  3. I was wondering if anybody has an opinion about using an 8 wt rod for streamers onthe bow? will this be too much rod? not enough sensitivity? I dont have alot of flytackle knowledge. I want something to use on the saltwater etc. back on the eastcoast. striper and atlantic salmon fishing, some largemouth bass also. something to throw big streamers and poppers. something under 400 bucks!! any opinions or suggestions would be great thanks matt
  4. almost getting the rod pulled out of your hand!!!!
  5. forest city as in forest city, new brunswick. population 12. My place is right downtown, middle of the action! check out wheatons lodge website , amazing fishing, mostly bass and landlocks. The only reason i am bragging is because it is 5000km away. damn i wish i was there now!!! dont mean to poach on you westlake, its all yours if you want it.
  6. Good for you, your doing a great thing. What does SAWT stand for? southern alberta.............? I hope somebody jumps on this opportunity.
  7. 22 inch smallmouth in a stream behind a house I just bought in nb. Best day of fishing of the year caught about 30 bass. I saw the big one when I was fighting another. The bass come out and try to steal the fly out of the the others mouth or just to see what's up . Landed her on a 5 wt with a strong leader. Took awhile and it was my first big fish on the fly. The fish had one eye and was beat all to *hit. Took my dad for a float the next weekend and the dam got opined as soon as we got there and the water rose a foot in anhour and we caught 1 all day. We saw the big mother but dad couldn't catch her, I think he was putting the fly on her blind side.
  8. Right on thanks for all the input think i will try to send em in for warranty just another busted toy rods, bikes , boards, golfclubs , sleds , trucks, broke em all "sure do like him but he's hard on equipment"
  9. how healthy would eating fish from south Calgary be? I wouldn't eat anything out of that area, even if it was legal. My past job in the water treatment biz smelled similar to fishing the bow, at times.
  10. $100 dollars for a license is ridiculous. i would pay (bought 6 already this year, maybe $250 worth) but how many people would be fishing illegally? you would probably sell half the licenses, if that. fishing is costly enough already. i cant get most of my friends to go unless i would supply the gear. fishing needs to attract people ( unless they fish the same water as me!) not discourage them with higher fees.
  11. i bought some streamside waders and was told they had a one year warranty. i ass-u-me-d that this was against manufacturers defects. 5 uses later the seam started leaking. i contacted the company and they said to use the enclosed patch kit. this didnt please me. i thought that a leaky seam would be a manufacturers defect. maybe i am wrong. i am just seeing if anybody else had similar problems with this product? maybe i should just suck it up and fix my new 200 dollar purchase. just doesnt seem right though.... yours truly wet from one knee down
  12. i also highly reccomend arctic char cheeks and caribou medallions from the frobisher inn. cant believe i didnt fish there. i guess the addiction hadnt fully set in
  13. fyi no beer stores there. byob if you want to have a drink anywhere other than a bar. go check out the old hudsons bay buildings outside of town, pretty cool. might want to bring a headlamp for fishing. definitley an interesting place
  14. I was in van a few weeks ago and saw two guys walking down the street in sedin jerseys! Looked like they were holding hands. GO BRUINS
