  2. I owned a crestliner1448 md frt, leaky rivets didn't have me keeping it long.Welded is the way to go.imo.They weigh more, cost more & generally have a greater alum.thickness.Your question on Marlon boats might be better answered by .Posting the Q on FLYBC.CA Forum.Guys started asking about them 2-3 yrs ago.
  3. Well i hate being blown off my spot & having my ropes long & away from the boat.So i use them on my 10' spratley & on a 17' flt btm tracker.Sometimes i'll have to use 3 anchor lifts.1ea. at the rear corner & a 30 at the bow.
  4. Sctty 3x..You can even get them in flush mount models..I hang 30lbs frt & bk of mine with no issues for 10 yrs.

  8. Jpinkster; The city of Calgary claims to be trying to get ahead of this.I retired from there 8 yrs ago. They took on a project,to clean-up nose creek[G Mar].Well it's 8 yrs & counting & there still pissing around. They laided some pipe ,now there digging it all up.I'm glad it ain't city workers doing it.Would have been done by now.So talk all you want,no one is watching over these jerk offs.Wasting taxpayer[municipal & federal] dollars .Millions......Job creation humf...
  9. To the best of my knowledge they scrapped ,last years "NEW" system,Rverted to the old tried, successful method.
  10. The barbless on quality waters,is interesting.Guess that would mean, that if there is a notation in the reg's on the WB.It would go bbls IMO.Thanks for posting

  12. I have had mine for 8 yrs now.I got the 1 that has the charger, with in.I f you tie on a nor vise.I find it to be a little short,[bulb, length].So i lifted it so the nor vise base sit on top,of the base ledge, then i butt it up to vertical body.It is the closest light to natural that i have found 7 about 100.00 less than nor vises light...
  13. Do yourselves & your loved ones a favor & test inflate those yearly. After all the bladders in those vests are just cheap rubber.

  15. Rest in Peace Tight lines...Remembering back on tying his version of the Letort Hopper, using Phentex yarn.Stories on how the process went to develop his flies. The stoned, stonefly, was priceless..
  16. It would have saved a lot of trout in our stocked lakes last winter.I have been saying it for years.Maybe the N D P will listen.NO ICE FISHING ON AERATED LAKES..
  17. Never tried purple..So are you using purple wire & purple flash ? thanks brian
  18. Yea that's the bug.Very good tie ,by the way.One of these days i'll take the time to try & post pictures.I just get toooomany brain farts trying
  19. Birddog; Those will work.x2 on the utc70 thread in various colors.I don't see a chironomid larva. Here is a recipe for my best producer. It is Brian Chan's,1st fly that he ties on at a new lake.He calls it a BCW.[brian Chan Wiggler] I like a Hanak jig hook,sz10 or 12 red bead..Small/fine red wire counter wrap.Body & tail are all from a burgundy or red marabou feather. Not the w/bugger stuff. The stuff with long fine fibers.1 pc of red crystal flash.Bead 3/32 as close to the eye as possible.Can.Llama sells slotted beads[i use them].Thread base, tie on your tail [sparse],from behind the bead to the hook pt.Attach the red wire, same as the tail, eye to bend.I want the fly on the btm.& don't want the wind to drag it of the btm, when it's under the smallest indicator eye can see.Tear some fibers from the shank of the feather[long].Tie in by the tips, give them a few twists. So the fibers radiate outwards.Wrap up the shank, side xside.Rib with the wire segmented like a chironomid.Fish it on or near the btm..Tight lines & sinking corkies
  20. Simplelist easist way would be shut off the aerators..it may not kill them all.It will send to messages the smell of the dead fish, then The Media ..With the explanation,WHY.Don't even think about this either, they are virutually private waters, let them clean it up !!!
  21. One of my first ties for boatman, was a Brian Chan fly.12-16 SCUD HOOK ,Blk.thread, peacock herl wrapped around the thread[reinforces the herl],then tieing it in above the barb,1/4" wide stripped of piece of feather from a pheasant tail feather.Wind the herl forward, fold over as a back, the pheasant.Tie of at the eye, with a large head[blk.thread].A large sewing needle, with rubber leg material.thread needle with rubber material, thru the peacock ,about 1/2 way down the fly.Small dap of glue on the needle,as you pass thru the peacock ,it will help cement legs in place.Or just use goose biots tied behind the head 1 on each side for legs..I'm sure Brian has a sxs of this on 1 of his many videos..When the fish are feeding heavily on bkswimmers,a prince nymph works very good also..
