  3. I can remember when it was stocked with rainbows.Thety grew not large, but then there were 10 fish a day limits etc.I would like to let you guys no.That when ,your fortunate to catch a rainbow.Alot of them would be purely wild.So if you can release them.If enough show up in creel card notes, the govt, might consider saving them...Just a thought...Considering they could very well be15+ yrs.old..
  4. Sure hope that others move of off posting with Photo bukt..Ransom ???
  5. Leader & tippet material are both from same manufacture. If your tippet is flouro & the leader mono.It will most likely break there

  8. When i was in the Manitoba Parklands last week. They shut down a lake called Siniguish in the Duck mtns.It is great that they are intercepting these boats, but we never here about convictions, penalities etc.It was nice to hear when i was checked by Medicine Hat,that our AB.Staff knew about this. Now that they have also changed inspection times to 24hrs a day.I'm sure there discoveries, will go up.Also shame that SASK,isn't on board. No inspection stns from MB.border ,until i got to Medicine Hat....

  12. I for one would think that all of us would benfit from there classes.Taught proper etiquitte off & on the water, poaching[who, what where &why] to report.Regulations on & on .......
  13. I have seen them in the bow.I can understand somewhat, with that. That flood of 2013 flushed out alot of backyard ponds along the Elbow. But to hear they are in Airdrie ponds,Calgary storm ponds[country hills lake].It is what i believe is leftover of aW.Disney show free eimo.AO has many posts of sightings in Blood Indian,Dewitts Pond,Dolberg. The only Munipality to really get after them .Has been the town of Okotoks they apparently got the gov to Roetone them in there ponds.I don't no where it's going to end. With many lake communities now stocking Brookies,Browns,Grass Carp. Most are infested with perch.Who nos what the gov. is doing about. The blind eye, that they have given, has allowed this to spread,.The bucket brigade to no end.IMHO
  14. Traxxis[Minn Kota[ is the key 55lb.Battery,my personal best has been Interstate cheap, they at least .Abide by warranties, the rest scary.I charge it after use, even if it's very minimal 9yrs same battery...NO *hit !!! Touching wood
  15. MS.Phillips got another thing that you definitely need to look at.Bank eroision, speed, blasting thru redds etc.etc.
  16. Don; You can even add Wolverines to the list. The town of Airdrie has had 1-2 of them for 3 yrs.Carmacks was collecting the roadkilled one just north of the Balzac scale yesterday.Grizzlies last summer in Springbank.
  17. Pinkster; That was already done ..It was called a Rnd.Tbl.Mtg...Where we fishermen made some rec.to them. But it TOTALLY failed when the upper mgnt.couldnot even get there biologists to attend.Where a proposal from the mtg.,effected those area biologists. These bio's had more input, than there own upper mgnt.& way more clout....
  18. Loon's sure no how to recognise the sound...
  19. Here is a thought.Just before the Gov.,shut down commercial fishing. They virtually forced these guys to come up with live capture traps. How about doing that, take the fish over the highway to Travers,Mcgregor. It imo would appease the walleye guys. Then it could be said they are stocking catchable Walleye in AB.Manitoba has been doing this with great success. They identify a lake.To be converted to a trout lake.Live capture pike, perch, walleye.Transport to nearest accessible warm water species lake.I used to do the fish rescue in the irriagation canal..Why not do this... Maybe after the orginal slaugther, place the nets.Saves using ROETONE
  20. I doubt that they asked us stakeholders ,if we wanted Walleye.
  21. Pinkster: that's why it's a survey, with a comments area.FYI Tyrell lake used to get hundreds of thousands of trout, only to be consumed by pike & the warm water temps.I did the survey comments were to create a QSF of possibly a dual species Tiger & brook trout.Manitoba has had great success in doing these dual stockings, thus creating a trophy type fishery."BUT" before they implement it they MUST have very strict language to protect the Tigers. They would achieve Tigers in a more southerly destination instead of east of Edmonton,or south of the 60 parallel in the n.w. Sorry for the rant.
  22. Hey i'll bet that alot of them OLD Geezers didn't get the note from parks. They used my win info. Maybe the adminstration on this forum could d o a sticky...thanks for the info.
  23. Yes that's what i use.You can choose to install that base, say on the inside,or outside. There is also a flush mt.Which is very good when your using a load my boat, loader, nothing to bump into,or hangup. You can also use those bases for rod holders, beverage etc.
