Don, You are mistaken, I don't fish dries, that's too easy.... Typically I'm casting triple articulated streamers with treble trailers off of the bow of my jet in water inches wider than the beam
-
If you have spent so much time (45 years) in BC chasing Bryan Chan's babies how could you possibly fish another 50 years on the Bow, Oh I know your full of Rainbows. You are being ridiculous to make the statement I guarantee caught more "trophy browns" than you, I'd never make that statement to you as I don't know.... I have a fairly good idea but don't know. What about the 20 years I spent in BC chasing rainbows? I guarantee I caught more than you... I fish harder and longer. haha What's really a shame is you speak about allowing other the same respect, but you come in to the conversation with a mouth full of marbles, swinging your stick around, trying to be heard like an entitled millennial, just to spout nonsense that your special fish are offended by my words. Not once understanding as most here understand this is just jokes...... did you notice the 3' rainbow in my avatar.... i bonked it Plus reference to your time on the Bow doesn't impress me, that water is for tourists and those that don't know

One is for Kings, the rest are for peasants

Spend a lifetime in BC listening to those mouth breathers talking about how the rainbow is the end all be all, this lake we have 3N Dips, this lake we have Pennask 2N Trips, blah, blah, blah. If you've caught one of those garbage fish you've caught them all. No 2 browns look alike, rainbows though everyone is the same and not one is taking you to a pot of gold, Browns own the gold, all of it.

Gross, If you are fishing for troots and its not for the King, the bruins, Ze Germans, you're wasting your time. lol

Are you branching out in 2019? With so many of us pounding the same waters I'm already out scouting new water for 2019. I'm pretty excited about the possibilities, new water with the likelihood of dirty rainbows being seen around 0%. Are you scratching to get out and see some new fish?

Mexico City - Who's been?
Jayhad replied to ÜberFly's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
Been there, spent 3 months there. Got hit by a bus and ran out of money, it's a beautiful place but it is Mexico.... I feel safer in west Africa. The pyramids are a must, staying out of the bad neighborhoods is a must, you hotel should be able to point you in the direction of safety.. It's the busiest, least restful place I have ever been. -
Log Haul near North Ram River

Well Peter I'm going to play with semantics here, you are correct a user does require a license but you 100% do not need a license to use the system. I may or may not have had a radio for over a decade and I may or may not have used it regularly during that time without requiring a license...... I would personally accept the risks of unlicensed ownership over getting stuck out there. I would justify this to myself with the understanding that I speed........ Oh the rampant lawlessness, what will happen to society? -
Sunglasses! What are you using?

I've used the high ends, but they last the same amount of time as the cheap brands for scratch resistance. I know use Ryder's, they are a Canadian company and sweet models are $90 max so when they fall in or get lost it doesn't hurt so bad. -
Any welders out there? Found someone

Think of the positives, this is a great opportunity to flush those weak sauce tourist troots down the drain and stock these waters with the majestic BRUINS... Long live the germans -
Before this photo gets removed again...
Jayhad replied to BigFoamy's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
I complained. Why, because rainbows suck and you should be embarrassed and shamed into only posting pictures of Germans and Scots -
I'll sell you a photocopy of the book for $250..... new business opportunity

Anyone ever use Egg Patterns on the Bow?
Jayhad replied to BigFoamy's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
I fish a hunk of T12 on my 2WT and I never see it get hung up..... if someone would just make a streamer taper for a 2wt I wouldn't have to mickey mouse it -
Anyone ever use Egg Patterns on the Bow?

Yes I have with success, but I have just used beads. I typically fish them in spring when the rainbows are getting busy. -
Mike, if you want to walk tiny spring creeks for big browns contact me when in town, I won't charge and won't take you to the tourist trout....

New Format, or what?
Jayhad replied to fishinglibin's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
It would seem to an outside observer like myself that the ownership of this forum is slowly trying to plow this forum into the dirt.... why else would you make the changes to this forum that have been complete against the user experience. I wonder how long it will be before this comment gets deleted? -
Bow River trout population on a slow decline

I would think this trend is correct but my feeling is we aren't loosing biomass -
Hypothetical: Glenmore Dam Fish Ladder
Jayhad replied to threepwood's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
I don't think this is a feasible solution to a problem that I'm not sure even exists. I say that because I most would state that the Bow is doing great as a fishery. The size and amount of fish in that river are ridiculous. A project with such a large price tag might not be using monies in the best place, if this was to happen I would much rather see this cash go into enforcement. -
What length are your sticks? I'd let you borrow mine, the have standard/normal blades. Fire me a pm if interested

how much experience do you have rowing a big wood drifter? could it be that you are now in a low tech boat that doesn't track well?
