Question About Awd And 4x4
Tungsten replied to Smitty's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
AWD is full time front wheel drive and the rear kicks in when the front slips. On most cars i think. I have the "auto" 4 wheel drive mode(option) in my GMC and was told by the gear guys to not use it.To hard on the transfer case i guess. -
That sounds about right, same as doing drums on a older car.I was able to do mine with a big flat screw driver.
-
Myself i stay away from the RV centers.Brake adjustment is easy google it.For the lift i would recommend Standens, there the suspension people.

Ya i thought it was from a boat also but after reading up a bit more she was standing in shallow water when she hooked a fish and tripped. Her boyfriend jumped in and tried to save her but i guess the water was just too fast.

Some good news some bad, The good, i was able to get the paint off of the storage area by just rubbing it with thinner worked well. Bad news, The paint on the hull never really went hard it was a little soft. Its been on for over 2 months now.So off to the paint experts and ask some questions. The fellow i talked to said that i had most likely put the first coat of paint on to thick so the surface had dried before all the chemicals could flash out.I looked at him and said i have to sand it all off don't I.He replied maybe but if i left it in the sun after a light sanding that may do it. So while i was there i got a gallon of paint since i wasn't gonna use the same stuff so color change again lol. So i tried the sand and sun thing but it just wasn't happening i had put just to much paint on.Time for the power sander. Back to the inside,i FG over the seams of the bench supports and coated ever thing one last time with epoxy. 1 coat of primer applied with THIN coats ha ha and some more sanding. Next up ,painting for the last time hopefully. Almost done...

Goes to show ya how things can go from fun to fatal in just a few seconds.I can only imagine what she the guide is going though.I now no why you see some guide boats with safety rails that are 3' above the gunnel's.

I'm not sure what FNG is saying but all i do is copy the Direct link and paste it in the insert image. If i want to make it larger or smaller i go to my image resizer first and adjust there then download the adjusted sized pic to my image shack. Nice pic's.

I was out Monday also,he ran that boat all the way to Mac from police i would assume. You could here him for miles. The good thing is the water will drop and the big boats seam to disappear.
-
Sounds to me that its just to heavy for them scrawny arms of yours, maybe try something a little lighter perhaps something like this. Maybe one day you'll be big enough for that stick, but for now you should start out small. Your welcome..
-
Nice, was that today? The water looks clean or cleaner anyways.
-
If you take pics of them in the "act" and pic's of there license plate. Then they can follow up on it.Chances are the fish are in there freezer.
-
Sorry about your dog,Thanks for sharing some great pic's.

I see theres a new sign at the Police launch about keeping your wading gear clean. The only thing is its easy to remove ,i give it a month before someone steels it or by looking at some of the guys backing in there they'll run over it. The post board that was at the old Police lot was a good one, 2 big posts in the ground and a plastic cover over the plywood. We'll need something like that, it seemed to last.

No the lid was screwed and glued down.I now have a 16 X 8 opening to get my hands into. Its not gonna be fun.
-
I've had a fan on it for a couple of days now and no change and yes theres dust all over it but no biggy its just the storage area.Lets hope it drys some time this year lol.
-
Well i have the bench supports and front storage all glued in.Playing with the bench. I've got a question for the paint experts....I put a coat of paint on the inside of the bow storage area about 6 days ago and it still hasn't dried. There was some thinner added to it when i painted the underside about 2 months ago. How em i gonna fix this or will it dry eventually?

You kidding right? The large gape curved SJW hooks do more damage then spin casters and bait fishers i'll bet .

"Fly fishermen takes catch and release to a new LEVEL" Cause you relesed them in your office didn't you? -
No its not people getting ready , they put there boat in while i'm parking.I don't no why they can't wait the 60 seconds it takes to walk back and push out. I agree,i had one fellow pack up his boat well i waited .I didn't take long to tell him to move it,he grumbled and moved ahead 30 feet and parked again. So i drive up behind him and blow the horn and yell get the hell out of the way i yell out the window go to the dam parking lot.He throws his arms in the air in disgust .I don't think he really knew what he did was wrong.I think he was from Edmonton.

I have seen signs at Policemans before saying basically don't lollygag at the launch. They just don't last, people just steel them.
-
Only bitch i have is why do people have to unload there boat at police when theres 2 boats there already? Can they not wait for at least one of them to leave?

You can also purchase an ownership map for the MD or county your interested in for 15$ This is much cheaper in the long run and for the most part you can find out where people live to ask for permission.
