  1. The cables the motor comes with are most likely #8 if you want to extend you need #6 or bigger. Also add an in line fuse close to your battery on the + side.Any place that does car stereo stuff will have what you need and the connectors. I'm with Terry i extended my cable for my boat with booster cables ,i needed to add 8' so a set of#6 cables waperfectct i just cut off the ends and used the connectors i got from the stereo place to join the two.
  2. My guess is the butt section can be a little less on 8'6 rods so this would give you more flex, feel in the mid and lower sections. i have a 4wt 8'6 rod love the feel, very accurate and it does some single hand spay casts also.
  3. wondering by chance if anyone would be driving to Kamloops or area in the next month or so?I have a fellow that wants my pram boat and trying to find away to get it to him. I could trade a Bow float.thanks.
  4. I'm surprised every time i look into the worm bins at fly shops and theres always that bait hook. Myself I've gouged a few eyes out with that hook when it first came out and have switched to a small gape streamer hook ever since. we've talked about this before and i can't remember who posted it but someone makes a better hook then the bait hook. Not sure who makes it.
  5. 6 wts are for people that can't cast.3-5 wt is what us pro's use.
  6. By the pic it doesn't look that strong not for 300$.You can get strong glue on supports at one of the inflatable stores here in town.If you have the same as the pic (d rings) then you could cross strap a piece of wood down to the boat then you could attach a mount to that.Possibility's are endless.
  7. I don't think a poll is needed, fishing reports are fine just don't name the river/lake.Pretty simple.Same rules apply on other forums. If a Mod see's a post with a name in it just do your magic and remove it,send a pm and be done with it.
  8. my wife and her friends want to get a couple of rooms in banff at the end of march something that includes a spa.any recommendations?
  9. Go see Mikey at Southbow fly shop,he'll set ya up and point you in the right direction.
  10. I've gone through a few 10 footers now from 6 wt to 4wt and honestly for the bow there just too big and heavy. My 9 footers can do everything my 10's can do with more accuracy and there much lighter in the hand. try fishing a few before you buy for sure. I think the 10's will shine more on a lake when you need to throw 24' leaders.
  11. If its maple you guys want i got a constant supply from the garbage bins in new home construction.most sizes are 1x2 in 4'-2' lengths.
  12. Nice work Bob.
  13. some good info here
  14. The handle appears to be just a strap with some plastic tubing, should be easy to make/find.
  15. How did the "make it smooth" technique work out?was it just epoxy or FG and epoxy?
  16. Thanks Peter,John installed a new door for me and it looks great.
  17. Sorry to here that buddy,he was a good fishing dog.I'll miss him.
  18. Quick!Grab the 10WT with the seal pattern on it.
  19. Ah i get it now thanks for the pic.So not really a framed boat as you have bulkheads that are the frames so to speak and no frames where you'll stand. The chine board replaces the fillet so you can glue and screw the sides to the bottom.I suppose one could screw it all together with no glue flip it over and remove the strong back and see what you have.Mark out any changes then assemble the strong back back in and take it apart. Looking good.
  20. I'm a big guy so 36" at the floor is just too small.I've been in one for about an hour there was 3 of us just too tippy.Length is nice but for fly fishing you want wider.Your able to stand and walk around ,you can lean over the side to release your fish. As far as rivets go i had a 1448 Jon with an outboard jet that was riveted and it served me well for 10 years of hard river abuse.
  21. I need a new insulated one.Its 16X8.I'm also interested in side mount openers. Anybody here do garage doors? Also any experience with side mount or torsion drive openers? Thanks.
