Ok had time to look and play, not much different.i tried posting a photo and no luck?i copied the url but couldn't figure out how to enter it. one of the other sites i follow has this same set up/look, posting pics on that site is not easy.

what was wrong with the old one? i hate change.

if all your doing is holding it on shore then anything with enough weight works, for the river and if you want to hold in the eddies you need somthin short so it doesn't hang so low.a regular pyrmid will work fine.a dingle bell won't hold well and just roll and slip.

Anchor Systen And 12v Atv Winch
Tungsten replied to fishinglibin's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
have a look online,i got mine when fishin hole had there spring sale, you'll also want the controller/wire so you can run it from the rowers seat.i ditched the yellow line that came with it and replaced the 1/4 with 5/16, i can get about 80' on the arbour.it comes with an anchor davit to hold the minnkotta anchor which isnt really a river anchor.i modified mine a little and added cam cleats to a home made pully that sits on the outside.the cam cleats take the weight off the motor when driving upstream. a little pricey but worth it imo. -
Anchor Systen And 12v Atv Winch

the deckhand 40 has alot of power,it will pull 1300-1500 lbs up river no prob.it also lets line out/in at about a foot every 2 sec.it also shuts off when the pull is too great so it stops when the anchor is up all the way. i've played around with the atv winch, just too slow and loud. -
Anchor Systen And 12v Atv Winch

The problem with winches is there so slow and way to much power.if someone keeps the power on to long it will rip the anchor through the boat. minnkota sells one in 25lb and 40lb, i have the 40 lifting a 47lb anchor with no problems. -
Or you could go without waders with rain in the forecast.i understand its called "copperjonny style"

Are Bow River Trout Leader Shy?
Tungsten replied to cgyguy's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
lol! as far as leader goes a well drifted drag free presentation is more important then leader size. -
onto fillets and tape, this time round i'm doing it a little different.first the fillet, this time i used different fillers.last time i used wood flour,i did some tests and found it to be weak and it also sagged as it cured.this time i mixed it with a mixture of cellulose fiber and fumed silica powder.this makes a nice non sagging fillet. after a cure of about 2 hours i pre cut my tape to length set it on some plastic and wet it out with epoxy.once it was full i then was able to peel it off and lay it down onto the fillet.with my wet gloves i was able to work out the air bubbles.then a piece of peel ply layed over and rolled out. this technique has saved many hours of sanding.the peelply leaves a nice textured surface ready for paint. I also re cut the shear line to be a little flatter. flipped ,next up, bottom glass.

Trying To I Start A Petition ...

I'm not sure what your getting at?police with the water up is much easier to load unload.now when the water drops in late October it will be a little shallow.Maybe then it would be a good idea to get something to dig it out a bit. in years past i've seen a hiho at mac digging it out, would you believe it was in mid may and a month latter it was full again. -
I'd be looking at the dump/garbage or wherever it went.

I was able to find the tape at a sealants and adhesive place, butyl its called. So back at the boat, both front and back panels turned out great. With the foam floor not excepting wire stiches that well because of only having glass on one side,i attached wood blocks along the edge with an angle to match the sides. i then attached the sides with screws and a couple of stiches to keep it all straight. i routered a 45 onto the edge of the floor so the sides had something to rest against, this helped keep them in place.the sides are up higher so after its all glued i'll be able to round over the foam to make a nice chine. in some spots i used wood washers to keep the wire from pulling through the foam. Some goo mixed with fillers was spread onto the seams in a sandwich bag with a corner cut out, like a pastry bag.

A Little Input Welcome, Seat Or No Seat
Tungsten replied to fishinglibin's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
I ran into the same problem,i have one pin in the middle at the stern.Seams to work as i find most people that fish there stand and the seat just catchs line.I also have a pin at the bow so the rear seat goes there when were fishin. When i go upstream guys just sit on the bench. The middle seat(rowers)i have mounted to a plywood cradle that fits around the bench, this enables me to shift side to side as needed. If i had benches that were all the same size all my seats would be the cradle idea. -
Cool thanks,as long as its sticky and the foam is soft it should work.

This is a piece i did today,i glassed both sides of 1/4 meranti. if it works it will be the transom of the boat. My first perfict seal, no loss of vacuum in over an hour. if anyone knows where in town i can get this kind of 2 sided tape,i'd like to here from you.It has to be the foam kind. Thanks
-
So back at it again, summer is really not a good time to build a boat but oh well it will get done. i've cut out and glassed my sides, then applied some of the plastic film to help level it all out. After laying the glass on the floor which is the foam i realized just how easy it is to lay down too much resin.Solution, vacuum bagging.i ordered one from a shop in the US Joe woodworker is the site and it comes with all the necessary valves to control the amount of vacuum. The plastic pipe is a reservoir to hold extra vacuum but its a little small.i've since adapted a 20lb propane tank to store the vac and its working much better. This keeps the pump from running too much. So i've done some tests to get a feel for it. getting some good results. I can now move ahead so things should go a little quicker now.

got what i need ,thanks for the offers.
