  1. I have had most of my best Bow river days, when I have to climb down an 8 foot ice cliff to get to the water There's something surreal about fishing what looks like the bloody north pole, on the Bow.... I too really enjoy the winter fishing on the Crow! Midges can produce some decent dry fly action too, even in January. Depends how warm the day gets Never really got into ice fishing much. Been about 10 times total. matter of fact, tried to sell my hand auger this year in garage sale. No one wanted it.
  2. Two guys, one old and one young, are pushing their carts around Home Depot when they collide. The old guy says to the young guy, "Sorry about that. I'm looking for my Wife, and I guess I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. " The young guy says, "That's OK. It's a coincidence. I'm looking for my wife, too. I can't find her and I'm getting a little desperate." The old guy says, "Well, maybe we can help each other. What does your wife look like?" The young guy says, "Well, she is 24 yrs old, tall, with blond hair, blue eyes, long legs, big boobs, and she's wearing tight white shorts, a halter top and no bra. What does your wife look like?" The old guy says, "Doesn't matter --- let's look for yours."

    Mullard

You can also fish for mullets where I deliver my loads in Arkansas. You need to tie on a #4-0 pack of Marlboro's, and present them in the Nascar feeding lanes... if that fails, try a #0-6 Can of Skoal. Sure fire catchin, but some consider that as lowly as baitin 'em Ben, I'm fine. Nice to see you on these forums ;-)
  4. Your pretty much looking at nymphing, and the crow's usually fantastic this time of year. Go slam em! I use 6x - #10 wire JSW, #18 bead head midge pupae, #20 hare's ear, and have super success in the 4 foot pools.
  5. amazing pics all.... wow

Cool fish. Looks a lot like a streamlined lake white with a mullet
  7. Glenbow is a great guy to fish with. Got to fish with him last week and I'd do it again anyday. He knows what it's all about - as evidenced by this post.
  8. Dude that is awesome thanks man!
  9. I have to 100% agree on the HONEST fish over 24". Go look around and have a CLOSE look at some guides web pages out there.... if you know your fish sizes pretty well, you'll see what I mean. And these are GUIDES overestimating fish by 3-5 inches. In 15 years of Bow river fishing I'd say I come by an honest 24+ incher about one in every 5 trips out. And that's knowing where to find 'em. There's fish over 30" in the bow if you can fool 'em. Heck with 24
  10. Well I'd say you should say who it is. A Private guide probably doesn't have the money to hire a lawyer in the first place, and unless he's sick or dead, he should be answering your phone calls and e-mails. And not all private guides are bad. I ran a private services for 7 years that *by word of mouth* grew exponentially. So if you do it right, you won't suffer for business... but if you do it wrong, maybe you should get a slam here and there.... just my 2 cents.
  11. so maybe this wasn't the best topic to read while eating lunch!
  12. Me and Greg are going up right after we eat thanksgiving dinner... I can't wait. Your post makes me want to be there right now..
  13. That was a pretty good tune... and nice vid. The green river if you never fished it... is a pretty sweet place btw...
  14. Wish I could have attended... work was in the way this year sounds like you guys pulled it off and a huge kudos to you!
  15. real easy to use web page template and designs at www.tripod.com.. It only costs 5.99 US / month for an add free page. I actually ran (and I think it's still on that) the entire bowcrow web site when I was the owner of Bowcrow Fishing Adventures.... and had many comments on how people liked the design and flow of the pages. If you want I could do this for you... all I'd need is the text and pics you'd want in. Lemme know if ya need me to do it... (you'd have to open the tripod account though). Brian
  16. Man I really love the (censored) , especially where I think you are on it
  17. So what size and type of hook do you use for this pattern? I think I know where to find an old B-Ball for the tying mats.
  18. hilarious choice of words.... in spite of the topic, wouldn't you say? LOL
  19. I'm in. I'll send u my pics. If the cost of going in the side bets is a dozen flies... I'm in for that also.
  20. any chance of a non facebook vid? I hate signing up for everything.... Can't wait to see it though..
  21. I kept stats for 7 years on the Bow. The trend is definately there... that the pressure must be rising or stable for a good solid day of fishing... and higher numbers of fish. For a BIG brute... pressure usually was falling though. Ever notice how when you land a real monster you dont have a whole lot of other fish that day? Ever been having a crappy day... terribly hot muggy summer day ... where later in the day a t-storm passes over and after it the fishing picks up? T-storms are high pressure. When they are building (during the day) the pressure everywhere but inside the thunderstorm's cell, is dropping (like 50 miles away from it). Once it gets really close the pressure rises (and the fishing turns on... until you have to go run and hide). One thing I notice though, is that THIS time of year (summer) the trend is not as pronounced. Go try to fish the Bow in January when the pressure is falling and it's a nice day out. Good luck to you I say... I'll stay at home.
  22. Cool thread btw.... where did you come up with this stuff?
  23. Ladystrange your kicking out some serious vibes here.... LOL why do YOU need to know if SHE is single...
  24. I guess I should remember that Gok (like me) makes a fish look small for some reason in the pictures. Tjat fish is probably a lot bigger than it looks
  25. Ok I just spilled my bowl of cereal all over the comp.... thanks a lot Best edit ever!!
