Did you throw a can of bait at the drunk to slow him down? Did the cops get the jerk? I hope you get some positive karma for a long time now... -
Does The "system" Work?

The common misconception people have about making phone calls late is that people will not get caught. So what...... are you aware of how funding is allocated? The more call in's you guys make about violations on the Bow river (wether it's in time to nail the guys OR wether it's 4 days after the fact) will be a MAJOR determining factor as to how the enforcement budget and staffing gets set up in future years. Make the calls!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I'd choose #7... take gaff out by hand, climb up the rope, punch the crane operator in the head, tie rope around HIS neck, operate crane with deft skill... maneveuring him to crash repeatedly against a rock wall.......

Conor. It's a series of ponds located close to Waterton Park, just a half hour from my place Private ... I beleive the rod fee is about $50/day/person. Makes sense for me to go there... as I could easily spend $50 in gas to go anywhere else really. I don't know why I haven't gone yet *slaps self in arse... get going you fool!* -
Sweet report and pics.

Nice bully Max!
-
Awesome! I have yet to fish salmon on the fly reod... a situation which I will be looking to remedy this coming Sept/Oct.
-
Jeez instead of throwing bait cans at them you'll be tossing a tactical nuke! awesome!

Flies to tie for most all boxes would be: Adams #18 Stonefly nymphs golden and black #6-12 Prince nymph #14-16 Hares ear nymph #14-18 Pheasant tail nymph #14-18 Elk Hair Caddis(tan, light tan, with blue, green, or brown bodies) #14-20 Caddis Puppae imitations #14-18 San Juan worm (wire wrap) #4-12 Blue winged Olive (dry and nymph) #16-22 Stimulator (yellow and orange bodied ones) #6-10 LeTort or other hopper version #6-10 Midge patterns (dry and nymph) #16-22 Black Ant #14-18 Clouser minnows and Bow river buggers and various large weighted streamers (Brown, Black, Olive, White,) are some of the best colors. Bull trout streamers 6 inches or more ong, with red on them somewhere. See if the boys will post a pic of the bully streamer they have that looks like a lil' rainbow... those work great, or tie about the same fly like I do but use gold flash, white belly, and brown on top, and a little red flashing around the gill areas.. (looks like a sucker or whitefish and SLAYS 'em) That outta cover pretty much MOST situations. For the small streams I'd be using a hopper / nymph combo.. so make sure most of the nymphs are beadheads..

The full story will be told when I finally land that son of a __________ lol -
Esleech. Your fine man... it's fun to play with em for a while. Note that YOU killed 'em while others went 5/7.... and you did all yours on the dry... the light tippet does certainly help get into dry fish.. but... use a lighter rod like a 3wt or 2wt, so you can get a healthy bend in the rod yet still have enough protection for that light tippet. I fish a 3wt all the time and to be honest, I do not lose very many fish hooked on the dry (once I hook the little devils that is)... Your not talking about missing them on the hookset are you? Your talking about having them on and then losing them, right?
-
Good story mate..
-
Ba hahaha yeah

Make sure you report this to the F+W along with the spot he was at. Regardless of what happens. I don't think your gonna get charged for it becuase if you do he'll also be charged with his offense - or else not have a court case against you (becuase it would be minus the facts)... I broke a couple of "ethnic" people's rods right in front of them and threw their stringer of 4 dead browns about 40 feet into the Bow once.... that's as crazy as I ever got ... lol
-
LOL... yeah... hey I even took off my vest and threw it to the side becuase it had my snippers and other metal objects on it. Putting it on afterwards was like climbing into a presoaked cold wetsuit tho!!
-
Dutch Creek, Racehorse Creek... also offer good fishing on the small creeks nearby, plus access to the larger fish of the Oldman and Livginstone is very close..

Clive, That puppy ended up sliding into Calgary from the south at about 11pm me and greg were stranded in the middle of a feild becuase it came up on us so fast we couldnt make it to the car safely. We layed down flat in a low spot... and got our a$$es kicked by hail, wind, and hard rain, and had a lot of lightning directly above us, but thank goodness no ground strikes within about a mile from our position. It passed within 10 minutes... but man was it scary.. didn't wanna stand up..

How Do You React When You Lose A Fish?
Hawgstoppah replied to SteveM's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
I honestly think it would be NO fun to fish, if you never lost fish. If every time I hooked "ironlips" I landed it... I wouldn't be so intrigued by this one fish. (Been chasing for 4yrs now, yet to have landed it, matter of fact, I've yet to keep it on the line more than 5 seconds)... Great, great thread......... Oh and in response to the initial question, I'm not gonna say I don't cuss a bit when I lose a particular fish I have been targeting, but it's not a pissed off type cuss, it's just a "Oh you biyotch!!! I will be back! Next time... ahahahaha" kinda like the bad guys in every movie that u know is gonna have a sequal.. lol -
I know where that sucker ended up Clive
