I think the trade was excellent. 1) Gave us lots of cap space 2) Out of all of our high paied players I feel regher was the most expendable (Our defensive team has never be a problem we need people that are going to score plain and simple) 3) Allowed us to sign tungay which was a player we had to sign and we needed to sign him before he went to free agency cause I belive we would not of been able to keep him if that happened. Have faith in our new defesive players such as Bowmeister (Gonna lean on him more as a leader now) Gieodano (Man I can never spell his name but a very good young d-man) Pardy (Looking good for the years to come and also a young player) And the other dmen (I hate to admit Statios also) are doing well. With Tungay signed I think we really need to sign Morrison also as he played very well for us last year and a great #2 center. With that we now have cap room which everyone else was belly aching about. -

I am guessing they are using for a marker of some type. Back home we use to see areas in large bodies of water marked in similar fashion, however we used duffle bags (might be the same as a hockey bag), what they would be using it to mark I do not know, but that is the only logical thing that comes to mind. -
If I wasn't so broke I would diffently be getting this, borrowing a buddies of mine right now and I love the DTX series.

I do not belive that it is all fishermen, there has been nurmeours times I have been down there at night and see kids in on the island making a bon fire. I belive some blame might be towards fly fisers but I do not think all of the blame is there. Go down to southland during the night around 1 or 2am and you will see what I am talking about.

So I just started tying with CDC and I went out and bought a bulk box of CDC (Before anyone says anything I know the feathers in the bulk box is not the greatest but since I just started tying with CDC I much rather buy a bulk box learn how to tie with it and perfect it instead of wasting good feathers and money on learning how to tie with the material) My question for all the tying guru's out there is what tips or tricks they are willing to share with me with tying with cdc. So far I have tied 1 1/2 dozen cdc caddis and really like the material.

I haven't had much problems from the jet boats, when I am W&W, do mind though there is always an idoit, I do however have guides that consitantly float within 5 feet of me on a regular basis. I find the drift boats invade my area more then anyone else, alot of times they are guides too (I mknow they are guides as they have the outfitter name on the boat, I will not name any guides as this is not the place) Like anything in life there are responsable people and there are jerks.

Even though I hate Vancouver almost as much as I hate Edmonton, I would have to say that after watching the first two games Vancouver is diffently the better team. Was it just me or did Boston look slow compared to Vancouver? I predict that the cunucks will split the games in boston to come back to vancouver and win the series, would be nice to see this even though I really do dislike the team, but in all fairness they are the better of the two teams. -

Actually I work in a retail outlit, and for technology it is a 10% discount and Aisles items are 15% The days of seeing 50% discount in a big box style store is pretty much gone, as prices incresase and usally there was a price reduction to begin with from its original price. -
Not to sound like a jerk, but $50 for repairs on something that has lasted for 12 years of commercial ting to me sounds pretty cheep. It was once told to me that a life time warrenty is never for life for alot of reason. I recently bought a used Dyna-King Trekker vise and am super impressed with them. I have heard from alot of people that their jaws are probably the best on the market. I would buy a nora-vise but I need to keep on moving my vise as my tyingg bench is actually my computer desk also so the "TRAVEL" vises suits my needs the best.

I find MEC is one of the only places where I can find outdoor wear that fits me to my liking, most other places I have gone to either they do not carry my size or its to tight in certain areas. I wasn't a big fan of MEC untill recently when I went looking for some good hiking boots for my bad knees and the people that I delt with there were well trained, had great customer service skills, and informed me on all the diffrent products I could buy but let the decision fall on me. Since then I have bought alot of stuff there and am very impressed, I also went comparing prices also as I do not make a ton of money and found that what I was buying and comnpared to other places they were a lot cheeper. Ric, I am super surprised to hear you are biking to work, good for you nothing ever wrong with tring to get in shape, I just wish I had the drive to do that myself. Keep it up.

My Little Man Caught His First Fish Today!

Absoultly Awsome, Great age to start teaching kids stuff as they grasp onto everything that is told to them, now lets hope ryan taught him some good things like not to hit a stick over the trouts head it causes HEADACHES for them (Thats what my cusions always told me) -
Conor, I tottally get where you are coming from and understand that you do not want any casting rust when you do actually get out on the river, but how long does it really take toshake off that rust? One day, two days??? Why not go to less productive water first get the rust off then move to the more productive water and start slaying the trout? I also know you like the bambo and I just do not think these practice rods can simulate the same feel as a bamboo rod. As for your kids I think it is a great thing to INTRODUCE them to fly fishing but once again the rod is much smaller then something they would be using at the river and it might discourage them if they do not have the same sucess as they did with the practice rod. In my own opion I think these things are a big waste of money and better for instructors that are working with new people for the very first time. I remeber when I was having troubles with my single hand casting a few years back and with a few suggestions from Max, and Dave Blair from Fish Tales my casting was 100 times better. And we used the rod that I was casting also and not a practice rod.
-
Conor You talk about muscle memory so let me ask you this question? The pratice rod is it the same weight, length, action as the rod you are using? No sence in praticeing muscle memory with something that is lighter or not even the same action cause when you pick up your REAL rod then you would have to adjust again to that rod and you have been fishing for long enough that YOU know what to do. I also live right next to FC but I do not have time every night to go down to the river so I spend 5 or 10mins just practing where I can hence I do as you say work on muscle memory with something that I am actually going to use. These practice rods you are talking about are only good in my own opion for someone that is new to fishing and needs to learn the mechaincs of casting and not for muscle memory.
-
My only question is this: WHY PRACTICE WITH SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT GOING TO US IN A REAL SITUATION? I practice alot of time walk up and down my back alley or out on the feild.

Work has been absoultly crazy the last couple of weeks and have been getting home and littialry falling alseep till I have to work the next day. Gord, better watch out what you say I have a nice photo of you in the bushes from the last time you were here. Anyways have caught a few nice fish nothing to get excited about, around 18 to 20 inches. Mostly on the Black Leech that I tie. When you come into town let us know so we can hide all our sheep, we all know how you scotish people loooooove your sheep

I've used mustad for the last 5 years and personally have never had a problem with them. I wouldn't use a dry fly hook for nymphs, as I understand it the dry fly hooks is a thinner gague of wire, which would make perfect sence why the hook straighted on you. As for the nymph hook not beeing as sharp as the dry hook, I dunno cause I know mustad now chemically sharpen thier hooks now, and how sharp do you really need a hook to be for trout?

No need to post signs with rapps # cause it is on the back of your license. If it is something to create awarenes then someone will chop it down, look at the kids that party in the parking lot at poilce during the long hours of the night, sick and tired of coming there in the morning and having to pick up other people's garbage. Plus I wonder where they are getting the wood????? -

I know I am late, but happy birthday clive. Need to get out with you and al and do some pike fishin. -
You know what the most annoying thing about the drigt boat hatch was, all but maybe 2 boats came about 5 to 10 feet away from us. Man that was annoying, even if I had my single hander out the boats would of still be floating right next to me, maybe next time I'll try casting over the boats.

I'm 6' 1 240lbs and these did not fit me at all in the groin area and were way to long in the legs and since I wear a size 10 shoe the boots where absoultly monstrous on me. The only company that I have looked into (Need new waders this year) that seems to suit my needs are Simms, unforntantly most companies do not make a fitting wader for someone that is short but wide.
