So anyone able to help with this strange situation...
I hope I can explain it well enough...
Our computers keep randomly shutting down when connected to our wireless network (but not when hardwired). So thinking it was my (previous) router (tenant was also having issues and had to keep resetting the router - a Hawking), I bought a new router (Apple Airport Base Stn) in the fall, in hopes that it would solve the issue but the issue still persisted. So then thinking it was the computer, I had someone look at it (known logic board issue with this model - '06/07 Mac iBook) and there were no issues found- seemed to work fine for him...
So last week for some reason it wasn't shutting down, which was strange as it usually shuts down pretty regularly, so I checked the signal and noticed it was connected to some random wifi signal from the neighborhood (not sure how that happened)... As soon as I connected back to ours, it would randomly shut down, again (so back to the random neighborhood wifi and it doesn't shut down). Also noticed that the Apple router will blink to yellow (normal is green) randomly as well, so need to reset it when this happens.
So anyone have an idea what is happening and why? I was told it could be the Shaw modem?!
Any thoughts or advice?!
Thanks in advance.
