  1. My only exp. with Bear Spray is testing it out against a tree and inhaling the over spray!! We were coughing for pretty much a 1/2 hour!!
  2. I've had great service and AWESOME flies from "reelflies.ca" P
  3. I use a collapsible trekking pole I found and a carabiner to hook it on to my wading belt... P
  4. See here: http://www.albertaparks.ca/kananaskis-coun...egulations.aspx
  5. Yup just re-read the website. Wild land park it is ok to use deadfall!! It's provincial recreation areas where you can't use deadfall!!! I'll try and post the info!! I always thought in a Woodland park it was ok for deadfall. In a Provincial parks and recreation areasits a no no for fires outside an established and designated spot. You can't cut any wood down alive or dead!
  6. Dead fall is fine but it's recommended that you collect it from afar as opposed to close in. Try to use an established ring so that you try and prevent scaring. P
  7. So a few year's ago I had a custom rod built for my 40th. Since then, it's become Deb's favorite rod for smaller rivers like the Oldman and I haven't been able to use it... So for her birthday this year (I won't disclose what number birthday, but I'm sure you can deduce that for yourselves) I decided to get the same rod built for her (although they no longer make that paticular blank in a 5 piece, it's only available in a 6). The blank is a Dancraft 8' 3 wt FLT. I'm quite please with the result, and I'm sure she will be as well!! She'll be receiving it this weekend even though her birthday isn't until October ... Oh and of course I had to get a new one built for myself at the same time (she'll definitely shake her head at that! Mine is a 9' 4 wt 6 piece)! LoL Thanks so much Colin (CDone), AWESOME builds! P P.S. This particular colour was chosen because it matches the detail on both her wading boots and rain shell!! His and Hers rods Detail of the reel seat and insert Grip detail Wrap detail Feather inlay detail
  8. Darrin, Be warned! Keeping stuff in your car can be risky (other then the high temps effecting your line, I would think)!! If your car ever gets broken into, it will all be lost.. I've heard the stories!! Not fun! P
  9. St. Croix hands down! And get a better reel then the Admunson (Hardy Ultra Light or Orvis - or just about anything else!!!!!!) Rio Trout LT or SA Trout but only if the rod is medium or medium/fast action. Otherwise go with Rio Gold or SA GPX. Of course these are only MY opinions!! P
  10. If they were were guides from BC fishing in our waters you should have run them off the road !! P P.S. Just kidding (sort of)
  11. Dave in your case we would refer to you as being a "two pump chump" or "two slap chap"! P
  12. Curtis, Most likely it's just some of the fiberglass fibers (individualy fibers)/epoxy snapping (there are individual fibers that don't get completely coated by the epoxy and break through the epoxy) as you walk around on the floor of your boat. Shouldn't be anything to worry about. Happened with my fiberglass canoe, as well... Unless of course there was a previous repair that wasn't repaired properly!! Then I'd worry and redo the repair properly! Though I may be misinterpreting what you have described, and in that case, just disregard.... P
  13. I agree with mkm, might as well just save to buy a home on a community lake, it would probably be faster! P
  14. Oh I already know!! LoL That's EXACTLY what I'm saying!! P
  15. Ahhhh that explains it Brad!! LoL
  16. Yeah try to get an LA reel over mid arbor!!
  17. An "ethical" guide did!! And I didn't say anything (nor did he) about not liking it!! He just informed me of the fact that one was needed!! You have the great ability to read into things that aren't there, eh Arschloch!!
  18. Who do ya think informed me of it!!!
  19. Walk and wades in the park, and lessons/clinics!! :$*%&:
  20. Yeah and surprisingly includes Fish Creek Park!!
  21. Nice work! And kudos for showing proper fish handling!!!! Out, quick pic/vid and back in the water!!
  22. Yes we buy corn tortillas there as well and they are awesome!
  23. The other good one is a hole in the wall called Las tortillas near Marborough Mall but that is too much in the "hood" for my liking (just kidding) but it is much further. They also have great shrimp tacos and make all their own corn tortillas !! P
  24. I thought I'd send a note plugging this new taqueria in Calgary. El Charrito Taqueria 808 Edmonton Trail NE (2 doors from Diner Delux). Deb's been there twice now and she took me tonight!! As close to authentic Mexican without being in Mexico. What they are missing in decore they make up in taste!!
  25. I know he doesn't come on here much any more (a little too busy being so "influential"!)... Nonetheless, congrats! http://albertaventure.com/2012/07/mi502012...mp;outalberta=0
