I just recently put it on my 5wt (had normal GPX 5 wt prior to switching)... Like Rick, I've only had it on for about a month, as well have no exp. with Sharkskin.
I only paid $50 for it and at this point in time seems to be the same as the reg GPX, albeit it makes much more noise (though not as much as sharkskin from what others have said). I wouldn't pay the $90 or whatever they are asking for it... We'll see what happens over the summer part of the season...

It would depend on how often you get out.
20 times a season should last 3 - 4 seasons...
100 times a season, maybe a season or 2 if you keep it cleaned and lubed regularly (most people don't). Of course these are just arbitrary numbers.

Quite a feat for this area, most definitley, but in the global arena of whitewater rafting and kayaking, it would be considered "average".
*EDIT* And when Marilyn ran it with Bob, she was much better looking!
I would think that since he caught it and purposefully left it for the bird to grab, that would be purposeful abandonment, wouldn't it?! It's not like he left it on the table by mistake!!
My question was legitimate (and wasn't meant as a smartass comment), and was not posted to criticise the OP...
This is from the AB regs (presume BC regs would be similar)...
•The edible flesh of legally kept game fish must not be wasted, destroyed, spoiled or abandoned...
I was curious if this situation would fall under the above definition...
None of them (except maybe for the Sage 4200 series)!!
They are all too heavy (or just crap)! Except for maybe the Sage 4200 series. I bought Deb the Sage 4250 in the winter for her 5 wt (but she hasn't got around to trying it yet, so I cannot comment)...
You can find a Bauer Superlite M2 on Ebay for around the $200 mark. Made in the USA and lifetime warrantee!! I've heard good things about the Hardy Ultralite, as well (though they are made off shore like all the ones that you listed)...

I ended up going with Tree Frog! They seemed to do a good job (as quoted with good advice that was consistant with what others were saying) and they were the lowest quoted price, as well!!
Thanks for your reco!
Peter
Did you try using a wire brush with the CLR? If you can use something around the stain so it can pool the CLR so it can sit for a while that might work as well...
I've heard coke works, but have never tried it...

Should I find it interesting that I haven't received any negative PMs (or that I've only heard from 2 guides and one shop, for that matter)?
Maybe not.
I heard back from one shop. They carry liability insurance for their guides and require 1st aid. One of theirs has swift water rescue but the was from a previous life. Some of their corporate clients require specific certifications in order for them to do business with them and that is quite common for that type of industry.
I totally understand what you are saying about waivers.
