  1. I'm startin' to doubt you Lornce, thought you was a West Canuck.
  2. I'm still waitin' for someone to post that he don't wear ginch in his waders
  3. The Forestry Trunk Road runs from Coleman to Hinton. Which part of the FTR?
  4. http://flyfishcalgary.com/board/index.php?showtopic=20058
  5. Pasque Ck is about 20 km away. My rainfall info came from the crew that's completing the logging company's decommissioning and I believe it. I was camped on upper Racehorse one memorial August afternoon when we received 250 mm of rain in 5 hrs while over at the Livingstone Forestry Station the dust never stopped blowing off the Trunk Road. BTW apparently SLS is done logging in the OM valley for about 8 yrs
  6. Mostly barbed and I walked 5k up Hidden today
  7. Went for a walk up Hidden today, way too much overreaction around this effin' place for a thunderstorm (125mm of rain in a half hr) and 2 or 3 small creek bank slides. Willow Creek was murkier than Hidden..fished both.
  8. I hike a bunch. My first pair of Simms lasted me almost 7 yrs. Uppers were still good but sole bed was gone and they had shrunk about a 1/2 size over time. I still wear Simms.
  9. Fly rods and neo-nazis.. quite a combination.
  10. I thought the Parks were about restoration and preservation of native species. A lot money and effort being spent on a species that got a foothold in the upper Bow via a broke down hatchery truck
  11. Oh Christ, there's an image I don't need, Don Andersen swingin' his butt
  12. And why? Because I got to a place where I found myself overlining my RPL+'s more and more.
  13. I like fishin' glass, Fiberglass shines in shorter lengths. Up till now it's been late era Phillipsons but I'm startin' to unload those for modern glass, Kenney glass to be specific. I fish a 835 and have a 794 coming sometime in the spring. I also fish a San Franisco era Winston Stalker blanked rod I bought from Don Andersen.
  14. No farther up No, much farther up. I fish mostly above Iron Ck, usually walk in at least 4k on the old rd and fish back. Swingin' small muddlers on a floatin' line been working well for me.
  15. Gonna be tough to repeat last yrs numbers but I think now's is a opportune time harvest them. I do most of my harvesting above the the old beaver meadows and that's where I was the other day.
  16. Maybe, maybe not. In fisheries highly dependent on introduced species it could be worrisome. I spent yesterday afternoon on a highly flood impacted stewardship creek. On this ck last yr I averaged almost 30 brook trout per trip, yesterday I caught 9. If I punt the rainbows caught, last yr I averaged 3-4 cutthroat per trip. Yesterday I caught 7 cutthroat and zero r'bows. It's all conjecture based on one 4 hr trip on one ck by a loudmouthed redneck but it appears the introduced species may have taken a *hit kicking. If anyone thinks this flood is an unusual occurrence for Southern Alberta, y'all better think again. Yesterday I looked at a 15 foot fresh cut creek bank that was 2' of silt over 2' of gravel over 2' of silt over and over down to where I was standing. Only one thing does that, repeated bigassed floods.
  17. 543 is fine, 2a is bumper to bumper most of the day
  18. I'll be there fairly soon Al, free and there works nearly as well as free and here....
  19. I feel lonely, I belong to the Redneck Free And Here School of beer connoisseurs..
  20. It bothered me watchin' my 20 dollar hemos' headed for the bottom so I step it up, I tied an alligator clip to a dipsey swivel
  21. Apparently there's plenty of stranded fish in High River at the moment, at least accordin' to the cop I talked to. Be more than a few in that bigassed lake east of the RR tracks they have to pump out. Fishin' should recover in a few yrs.
  22. Whatever... you should see all the Subaru's with white water yaks strapped on top headed north right now..
