Did ya hear the one about the lady in Gull Lake Saskatchewan who phones up the fish cops and complains about skunks in her basement? Says she tried everything and she can't get'em outta there. Fish cop thinks about it a minute and tells her to open a basement window and slide in a 12' 2x6 to make a ramp then throw in a couple big chunks of lutefisk and wait.
The lady phone the fish cops a couple days later and tells'em that the ramp trick worked like a charm for the skunks but now her basement was plump full of damn Norwegians and she can't get rid of them.
Phillipsons I got, it's just in the heaver longer lake lengths they tend to get really tip heavy and it takes a beast of a reel to overcome that feel.
... mid fast is what this Opti is supposed to be. We'll see when we get it how dead in the butt it is.
May have to do that, don't know if I'm terribly enamoured of any rod over 9' for a glorified float tube rod though.
Thanks for the offer, may have to take you up on that.
Well Gawdamn.. I believe I have successfully derailed my own thread!!
Back on track.. Does anyone know if Sages first gen LLs got up into the 6wts? Jayhad??
*hit Don we may be closer related than you wish, them Norsemen got around a bit and weren't all that picky what they climbed on. My last name is the Frisian version of Hansen
That exactly what happens. I do it all the time, either to slow down a rod or get a stiff rod to load with a short line

Yeah it's a bit subjective, just looking for easier to load, deeper flexing graphite long rod than the "fast action" rods I have tried and used for yrs. The old cowboy has a complete tear of his right side suprapinatus
Thanks Mike I'll watch for those
I'm on the hunt for a used mid flex 6 wt, 9'-9 1/2'. Like a Sage SP, SLT or ZXL. I know what I want in a Sage but what about the other makers? What Winstons, Scott, Loomis or T&Ts higher end rods would fit my mid flex criteria?
Thanks
And it wasn't even a once in a hundred yr flood

Wait and see what'll happen if we get another bad flood in the next couple of yrs. We'll have proposed dry dams above every on-stream community from Grande Prairie to Wild Horse. The Electorate will demand it.
No *hit...
The whole thing is a political and emotional minefield right now. Hopefully cooler head will prevail IF we get through next spring without something similar occurring.
Hard to get all up in arms when your friends and neighbours have had their lives gutted
It's an issue I've spent more than a little time thinkin' about
*hit I've never seen the wind blow a tailgate shut but I have seen it work it's magic on and with truck doors.
And Don wins and not because of the torture test but because he's figured out the juju to embed youtube links...
