  1. Or could it be that South Racehorse has returned to being a major bull trout spawning stream it once was because the monster logjam at the mouth has finally succumbed to successive high water events ??? It was only 20'-30' high in places and 150 yds deep and in place since '96. *hit there was a small lake behind it for a few yrs. Quit bein' a cutesy CSer and tell us the organization
  2. I need to start tyin' some. Gimme a must have chironomids list geared towards southern stillwater. Thanks and friggin lakes!
  3. I had a pair of young border collies proudly herd a moose calf my way whilst fishin' Chaffen Ck one day. Spent the next 2 1/2 hrs dealin' with a highly irritated and motivated cow moose, most of it playin' hide and go seek around a willow brush windrow.
  4. Ya mean other than gettin' run over by a pair of stampedin' phat girls??
  5. Had a lariat do that once when the honda broke except all the knots on my body came from the horse that ran me over after he bucked me off when the stretched out nylon rope rebound and hit him in the tailhead. Don't ever use the cheap aluminum hondas when turning 1500lb animals.
  6. If that's 3 this year then you and me are tied. then there's the 2 forceps. I'm gonna hafta start buyin' them by the gross

  9. If it's the reel foot that movin' and not the reel seat, at 1/4" I sure wouldn't worry much. As for the single locking nut, every Sage I own only has one,
  10. Ah! the lure of Internet anonymity or is there actually a smug lookin' Salmonidae in a Guy Fawkes mask?

  13. Could be a 12" net.
  14. If I ever quit havin' to stick new diesel motors in my work/fishin' truck, an Outcast Stealth is what I'm buyin' and then start savin coinage for a good hard boat....

  20. T'aint that crazy, August long weekend in about 1975 I ran a 25 head pack string over Mystic Pass in BNP through 4 feet or more of fresh overnight snow. Snow was up to my boot tops while I was sittin' on a 17 hand horse. Mid August 1993 this area got 30-40 cm of snow, flattened the still growing crop and we lost all 2500 acres we had planted.
  21. I hope at least you wore some ginch...
  22. Besides I get a woody everytime I think about shitty dizzily snowy falls days, damn few people, 6 hr bwo hatches and a river just boilin' with fish.....
  23. If ya didn't like the cake and pie comments you ain't gonna like this'n... I suppose you could always replenish them via hatchery trucks... the same way they got there in the first place. They really are no different than ringneck pheasants or grey partridges. Manage them for those who want to target them for their enjoyment but if they can't handle the conditions of a changing environment then I guess there will be an empty niche for some other species to occupy, hopefully a native one.
