The so-called rant on the internet achieved what I was aiming for, the pot has been stirred, the right people started paying attention, interpersonal communication is happening and changes (or not) are being discussed. It also helps when the person doin' the rantin' really doesn't give a good gawdamn what the internet anonymous thinks.

Lets just say I've talked to the former executive and they have confirmed my suspicions... I'm done

I extremely dislike the current direction of the OM chapter of TUC and the anti development no middle ground attitude. I hereby disassociate myself from anything to do with the Old Man River Chapter of Trout Unlimited Canada. I may also revoke my membership in the National if nothing is done about the current Chapter policy of alienating any and all resource industries.

Help With Vintage Rod Identification - Calgary Company
Taco replied to jasonseaward's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
Judging by the Featherlight ferrules that's a very early Fenwick blank. Can't help you with the Calgary maker but you can learn more about fenwicks over on fiberglassflyrodders.com. Quite a group of Fenwick fanatics over there, I'm more of a Phillipson glass man myself. -
Help With Vintage Rod Identification - Calgary Company
Taco replied to jasonseaward's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
The earlier Fenwick/Grizzly blanks sold to custom rod builders and the public were all yellow whereas the Fenwick factory built rods were fenwick brown. Later on all the blanks sold were brown. - Could I see a picture of the ferrules please? -
Who knows? I was in Wholesale Lethbridge this mornin' and there was a supervisor with a whole group of staff trottin' faithfully behind him around discussin' what I assumed was a major rearrangement of the various displays. Sounded more like another prime example of UFA's top down management to me. The young guy in fishin' department was helpful as hell though. and said they had a pile of tying stock comin' in next week.

I have had a pair of G3s w/hardbites for 3 1/2 yrs now and I walk a minimum of a 70km/yr. Just had a look at them and they're likely good for a couple more yrs but I should replace the hardbites

because this foul mouthed guy from the center right thinks that ezra levant is one reason that right wing politics is so divided in Alberta that we are likely to have a 2 or 3 term NDP government if Notley is at all a competent leader. I love how the hard right boys bitch and moan about how left wing the media in Canada is and then take the slanted BS that comes outta Ezra's self serving mind and mouth as gospel. Prime damn reason I voted Anything But.
