Britz and I went to crawling valley and newell last weekend, walleye weren't bitting but lots of pike action. Where did you catch your walleye?

I have to say I'm a seafood lover and I would love to try some trout or whitefish but I have yet to eat anything I've caught out of the Bow. I'm sure that this has come up before but as I'm new I'd appreciate your input. Most people I talk to say they would never eat anything out of the Bow, but I don't think it's as polluted as people say. I've never eaten trout or whitefish so here is my question. Is the quality of the fish as good as the fishing? How do 'bow, brown and whitefish taste?

So Saturday morning we went fishing under the 22x bridge for a bit and damn near every cast into the river would bring back this slimey transparent something stuck to our lines. I don't know how to discribe it other than it was clear or white, it sometimes had chunks in it that were greenish but I couldn't see any larvae or bugs in it. Anyone shed some lit on it?

Sounds like you're really hard on your kit.

Britz and I went on opening day, I was at the Pheonix BPS at christmas for the first time, what a spectacle, so I had to see if Calgary's version was going to be as ridiculous and it was. Prices seemed to be the same as in town so we didn't buy anything, though we got a chance to drool over some nice fishing boats and eat chicken hot dogs.

Hey there, a friend and I starting fly fishing last August so we are very new to the sport. I was hoping someone could recommend a fly fishing club that incorporates casting practice and river reading.

I'm in the same boat as you. My friend and I booked two trips this summer, one with Dee Chatani @ troutchasers, and one with Jim Mclennan @ mclennanflyfishing both are supposed to be outstanding fly fisherman and great teachers.

I have a Grey's GRXi reel with cartridges and I'm very pleased with it. Good drag system, nice sound and look.
