  1. I have followed Taylor reels since their first "type 1" reel came out and I wanted to see what the feedback was like on these reels before committing. They claim to be just as good as the SOME big brand reels for a fraction of the cost. Well this past weekend they launched the Revolution reel on kickstarter and the first backer gets one of these Revolution reels for $1. I was lucky enough and quick enough on the draw to actually be the first backer, claiming that $1 reel prize, which will only be shipped if the project reaches it's goal of $15k. Anyone ever used a taylor reel? They seem like pretty decent builds especially for the price. Korean made, likely in a similar factory to those big name brands. Apparently the Revolution drag system is quite good, but who knows. Ps. I actually will have to pay $21 with shipping, working out to ~$25 with the exchange rate
  2. Wow.. far too young. He seemed like a great guy on these forums and all of these memories of him confirm it!
  3. I like the 9' for Bow dry fly fishing.. 8'9" or 8'6" for smaller streams
  4. Damn hound chewed up the cape I used on these flies
  5. ...but calling RAP on those guys is SO satisfying!

  8. Oh I forgot to email you pictures of my Fenwick 8wt glass! I fished the butterstick a bit last summer and had some troubles with the slow action.. I ended up returning it, but it was likely more a function of my flaky casting haha
  9. Try emailing SA. The exact same thing happened to me in not a lot of use with my SA mastery gpx line. I emailed them, they said send the line back and we'll send you a brand new one! The new line faired well this last season and didn't see the same premature wearing that the old line had.
