  1. I am one of the a__holes with a jet. I always go wide of shore fishers, planing but at a slower speed, as the depth allows, and slow way down when passing canoes or drifters, and as far as possible, but in the eyes of some that is not enough. I agree, if you cant be courteous, dont get on the water. I have also pulled three people off the river in three years, and saw the rafters go over the weir a few weeks ago. Respect the water and mother nature, as they always win.
  2. I agree, not only know where you are going, but there are several signs for a long way.
  3. Witnessed two not so smart people use the weir for an amusement ride yesterday. Hope they enjoyed it, as it alomst killed one of them.I saw him go under and thought he was a goner for sure. Buddy kiss the ground you walk on and stay off the river. To Carseland and Strathmore resue,GREAT WORK GUYS !!!!!! You were amazing. Bill the rafters for the rescue.
  4. Its a new hybrid, I think they are called the rocky mountain bastard fisher.
  5. Curious about how much these lines retail for, and what it is you like about them?
  6. A couple of years ago, a guide from Bent Rods got a client in to an even bigger one, FRICKIN AMAZING, I want to go sturgeon fishing!!
  7. As they say on stampede week, Howdy Foks. I have a 16 ft alum flat bottom. I want to place some swivel low back seats on the back, center bench and bow. If I screw on a seat in center, for 1 passenger, and or rowing, that is fine. But if I have 2 passengers, to plane, then 2 would need to be center. So what i am asking is, center seat or not. Any feedback welcome. Thx
  8. Thank You Dave, the certifications are all the same, from ACSA and Alta Gov't. I will give Bob A call.
  9. Howdy All, I am working on COR certification, & It will be up to me to get the Health and Safety program in place. I would love the opp to pick the brain of an NCSO for some direction, if one of you has some time. Would gladly provide a lunch and beer/s, or maybe a day on the water, for the favour. If anyone can help, feel free to PM me. Thanks
  10. Called on a family at carseland last weekend, but the CO's were far away. They were going to try to get there, so dont know the outcome.

  12. Thanks Don what would you suggest it should go for?
  13. I have a chance at two Bamboo rods, more interested in one than the other. May be from the 40's, I suggest hand made just a guess. 11 feet long, I like all about it but 1 eyelet is slightly bent. For those of you who know, how easy is it to straighten or replace the eyelet, and if replaced does it effect the rod value much? THX
