  1. Damned Sqirrels, they are chewing on the wood on my deck.Railings first, and steps. I dont know which tastes better. They have become a major pain. The fact that the neighbor has a bird feeder, and the one across the way feeds them peanuts, does not help the matter. I have used a cayenne and pepper mix, but after a rain or snow it washes away.I know you can trap and move them, but looking for options. I hear if you trap them you have to release them a fair ways away or they sometimes come back. How is that, Stalked by a squrrel.
  2. That is far from anything Red. Nice catch
  3. They say to use earthy type of colors and not bright. Who ever they are.
  4. I sharpen mine with the narrow pencil type with the groove on one side. I should do it more often. I have been told there is actually a proper way to use those sharpeners. I guess I lost the instructions but am sure the internet or you fishers have the method. I here running the hook one way over the other is more effective, but do not recall which way. I do know you should not run it up and down the shaft, just in one direction.
  5. Hi Clive, It is just like having the right to vote, in that if you feel strong enough about something, you had damn well better take the opp to get your two bits worth in there. Weather you vote for or against the way I feel, at least you vote. Go for it gents and ladies. It can go a long way, and you see the way the vote leans. You see the way things are going in this world. Bless Canada and the right to say your piece of mind. Thanks Dad for fighting for those rights. And lets all vote during this up coming (again) election.

  9. Thanks Guys, I was leaning to the manufacturer. The superbowl ring would be cool to see, but I am also CFL all the way. I have seen a few Grey Cup rings, no slouch either, but the NFL goes all out on their rings.
  10. Hi Fishers, This refers back to Ricks take a buddy fishing. My bud said on the phone today this weather makes him look forward to getting out on the water with me. That's great, but Bud can play center for any NFL team. About 6ft 6 and approx 400 lbs.. Would you guys suggest he may need waders and boots special order to the mfg company. I do not think I have ever seen that size in a store. I am 230 lbs, so my jon gets maxed fast weight cap wise. Any suggestions appreciated. PL

  16. Hi Rick, All words well said for your friend and father. Your point motivated me to reply, not wanting to detract from the original message. Obviously it brought up some great things, a number of us had the joy of experiencing. But your points are very important. I have family that are growing up, and still have the fond memories. So be proud of your contribution to your friends interest, as your Dad would be proud that you carried on his. Not trying to take away from the conversation. If anything, motivated by it. I am very happy to be a part of good memories, for many people, and happier if they pass it on to friend or family. Here is to fun times fishing, fond memories with friend and family, and contributing to our legacy. Paul
  17. Yes Nicely Said. As much as I usually fish with someone, I do also enjoy a day once in a while on my own, more so if I have an issue to work out. Otherwise I have had the pleasure over the years of fishing with my friends on a regular basis. Just over a year ago, I lost my best Bud to cancer. Way too young. We practically lived on the Bow, and fished many other waters. Had the pleasure of watching his boys grow up on the water, to find them to be very good fly fishers. I miss the hell out of him, and often talk to him when I hit the Bow.(Corny Huh) I gave his eulogy in my fishing shirt. Next year, there are at least two more I will show how to fish. When my day comes, my Bud and I will fish all our dream waters, Cuba for bone, Alaska for trout and salmon, and again the Bow. I always new how much I enjoyed it, and realize even more now that Greg is gone. Planning a spring trip to 2 BC lakes in his honour with about 4 of our buds and at least 1 of his 2 boys. Some scotch and a toast may be involved as well. God Bless Bud, I am likely jelous of your new fishing experience. PL
