I met a guy who specifically targeted them (couldn't be bothered with trout). Full or sink tip line with small white streamers in slow, deeper holes.
A few of our crew have got them on San Juans
Dude,
Sometimes the moneychangers need their tables flipped to get the message across. This "correction" was too strong...but something needed to be straightened out.
Seems like Mr Ego the bully got a bit of a western education...a little too much of an education mind you. Interesting to see how his manners are next time.
Pkk...I have a co-worker who says something similar about Chinook and Coho...they are all made into dog food at their house. I guess everyone's tastes are different.
First time to the beach on the east side of the Island. The streams are very low and warm this year and the salmon were not showing themselves. Finally a few fish showed up cruising off the beach and I was able to get a fly in front of one. Very respectable fight for a fish of around 4lb and I got to see quite a bit of backing. I could see beach fishing getting pretty addictive. Hopefully nothing has happened to the fish and they continue to show up in the days ahead. Not a bad meal on the BBQ either
Stuff in the tanks was not very explosive (not jet fuel)...actually really hard to ignite even with a torch. Still is great news that none of it ended up in the water
The gravel under the base of the pillar washed away causing it to shift....could not have been seen by anyone. Hadn't happen for 100 years. I really doubt anyone could have safely checked the base underwater considering the current speed and visibility.
Good ending to a crappy situation. Pretty sure that bridge will not be replaced.
I think the houses below Cranston may actually be OK. It was hard to see going across the extender bridge, but I think they made it through. The pasture south of the bridge on the east side of the river is now a moving lake however
Northbound Crowchild over the Bow is closed, had to re-route to 14St bridge. The river is an awesome, boiling mess. Never been nervous on a bridge before. Hopefully the engineers did their homework right:)
