  1. Kevin is a shy guy, but he is more than happy to share his photo's. As I know a lot of you look at the 'photo posts' everyday to get your fish porn fix, I thought I would post his trip report/pictures. BTW, he said the group of 11 got about 150 fish for the week.....2/3 of them on dries!!!! Enjoy http://www.pbase.com/kevinsproule/210913
  2. I know some of you check his site to see if there are any new photos from time to time......well here are some from last week. Kevin and I did a day for carp at Canyon Ferry and had a hoot, except for the exceptionally bumpy, wet ride back. Good times!! http://www.pbase.com/kevinsproule/010813
  3. Monger, yes we went to the Morice/Bulkley...not the Babine. Kevin is heading to the Babine late October, so look for pics after that. SilverDoctor...yes it is a great area, even if you have to look over your shoulder now and then....BEARS!!! We had great weather and really good, in my opinion, fishing. We landed about 30-35 fish for the week. My brother-in -law was a big help. He lives in Burns Lake and helped us the first few days. Good times, good company and...good fishing....looking forward to next year.
  4. Well, Kevin is currently in the 'no video' mode and truth be told, steelheadin' isn't exactly a spectator sport.....but here are some pics. Read the caption....the day before we get there, the grizzly bear attack is 10 miles up on the same river we fish for 5 days....anyhow... http://www.pbase.com/kevinsproule/100912
  5. very cool. the first horse....very cool animal. they do amazing things when trained properly....nice, thanks for posting
  6. hey, i know there are bases out there. you may have to shorten the vice you have now to make it comfortable to tie at you desk though....got a hack saw.....
  7. Kevin on the Babine..... and others... http://www.pbase.com/kevinsproule enjoy 2011 oct 25th
  8. rob, the guide had us using hook side up flies....clouser type, crayfish, and the like. the one that caught most of the fish were a copper upside down zonker. carp are ultra spooky. a cast 30 feet above them could make them pull of the bank, an achor 'quietly' lowered into the water, 50 feet away, to fish to 'risers', would put them all down.....wwayyy spookier than trout. as much as i am a dry fly person, the carp we fished to were in 6 inches to 4 feet of water...tailing, gulping in the foam, mudding...very cool stuff. i would recommend it to anyone. btw, after more than 20 years of fishing the mo', this year is in the top 5 for fishing....dries everyday, all day. in 7 days, we shallow water nymphed for about 10 minutes. good times!
  9. Hi everyone. Kevin has compiled another set of pics and he also poured through a weeks worth of video to come up with some interesting snipettes. Here are some links http://www.youtube.com/user/SurfaceFilm#p/u/0/aus4L66aWKg http://www.pbase.com/kevinsproule/081111 ---some bad language in the carp related videos---

  11. sallinger...i'm sure there are a lot of good guides there, but no doubt if you can get greg, you won't be disappointed. he will also tell interesting tid bits of relevent and non-relevent, but interesting, information surrounding the river. monger...ya, greg has a tape measure on his net and we caught some in the 22 inch range. the fish, on average, have been longer and thicker the last couple years. 420...i've been going there for over twenty years and your right, that river for about 25 miles runs you through some of the most scenic, great fishing water anywhere. btw, the bridge from the canadian and u.s. border in the movie 'the untouchables' is in one of the sections below craig....also a pull-out over looking the river is where clint eastwood pulls off when he realizes jeff bridges has died in ' thunderbolt and lightfoot'...just a little trivia... frank
  12. Just something to look at as you sit at home thinking about summer. Actually 2 videos from the Mo'. Kevin also plays the guitar and for your musical enjoyment, he did the music for the 'Missouri Flow" video. Enjoy, Frank BTW...if you're ever heading to Montana to get guided on the Mo', Greg Falls guides through Headhunters in Craig. I've known Greg for over 10 years and this is my first guide trip with him.....he works his can off for you and will get you into fish and, he's a great guy....make sure to ask for him. http://www.youtube.com/user/SurfaceFilm#p/u/0/A8gLyJ16qgM
  13. this time it's kevin and our buddy wade in the bahamas catching some fine bones. the first scene shows the power of those fish....get you knuckles out of the way! frank http://www.youtube.com/user/SurfaceFilm
  14. yep. it was a good week on all accounts....good food, good guides, good fishing, good times, good guys. as far as the numbers, it was being in the right water at the right time...more luck then anything i think. btw the 'mike g.' guy owns a fly shop in calgary (fun guy!) frank
  15. kevin has posted a video ( and some pics) of some steelhead fishing. enjoy, frank http://www.youtube.com/user/SurfaceFilm
