  1. Yes BA. Fewer sloughs around these days seems to impact frog numbers. There are a number of possible reasons for low frog population. Good to hear you are seeing more.
  2. Great view. I am stuck working with a bunch of bottom feeding tank dwellers. At least some are transforming into corporate ladder climbers
  3. Nice fly Murray. I imagine the Police fish enjoyed it. Try some foam ones on the surface for more visual fun
  4. Thanks Brent. Haven't needed a guide but good to know Kevin and Dee are skilled guys available for hire. Seems there are lots of "guides" that float down the middle of the river not offering much to their clients these days
  5. How long has Kevin Peterson been guiding on the Bow?
  6. Congrats on finding treasure. Sounds like you had an adventure you won't forget
  7. Going to the lake today Ken. Sent you a message so we can connect if you like
  8. So relaxing Gary. Looks like there is room for a tent in your backyard:) I could relieve your worn out wrist once all the Coho starting showing up
  9. Just a heads up, you may want to change your flippers to big dive fins in the future. Your outcast fins may not provide much power in a strong wind. I'll see what's up with the schedule for the rest of the weekend, but maybe we can get your tube wet in a community lake over the weekend if you like
  10. What did you get for flippers?
  11. Great shots Jeff. Thanks for letting us "explore" with you
  12. Love the new Bow river...dry flies every day, all day long

    A Few More

That osprey has been stealing fish from our lake for months now. It's constantly flying over Mcleod Tr with a wiggling rainbow over to the slough. Sure is cool to watch them fish. At times there are 3 of them bombing trout. Love the light in your pics.
  14. Great fish Jeff. Nice to see one with all his mouth parts intact. It's hard work for a fat, lazy Cutt to struggle against a powerful dude from the Hat!
  15. One thing to think about regarding depth. Sometimes fish will be in very shallow water( 5-10") if there are lots of bugs around. Usually there is deeper water nearby for them to escape to. Fish in this shallow water tend to be over 17", and they tend to sip bugs very quietly. You really have to watch the water carefully. Sometimes when they are taking emergers all you see is their back because their noses don't even come out of the water. They get excited when you hook them in the skinny water. So watch of disturbances in the water or a funny looking "wave"...sometimes it is a fish.
  16. Thanks for sharing your great pictures!
  17. I just copy and paste from a photosharing site called Photobucket. Perhaps someone else could explain how to do it here
  18. Awesome! Can you share a picture?
  19. I was thinking this morning of all the benefits to fishing besides actually landing a fish. I was out this week with a buddy who I've been sharing adventures with for 25 years. We've caught the odd fish and seen some really cool stuff happen just because we were out and nature "happened" around us. This week we were watching fish greedily slurping blue wings. Pretty entertaining to watch. There was a Mallard hen and her ducklings feeding hard on the bugs as well. In addition, there were a few Cedar waxwings taking mayflies. As we stood on the bank watching the show, a waxwing comes and lands on my rod for a better perch over the water. What a treat. Not many days where fishing doesn't lift one's spirit....many days where my batteries are completely recharged to head back to the city. So don't forget to enjoy the whole experience and be thankful for the time on the water.
  20. Great shots Gary. Thanks for sharing your passion
  21. Love your river shot. So many rocks to investigate in that picture

    A Few Recents

Thanks for sharing your "view" of the world.
  23. I have some friends that just throw slack at the fish after the hook up...hoping they get off...then on to the next one. I think we are getting old
  24. I'm getting there. Especially with the cookie cutters in the Bow. But there is always the chance something over 25" will eat...I want to touch those ones.
