  1. Happy B-day Jeff. Hope you have an excellent day!
  2. Always cool to see Woody
  3. Beach running looks like a lot of work...but the prize is pretty awesome!
  4. Great post Cgyguy. Hopefully all will follow your excellent example
  5. I've seen a wood box about 10"x12"x length of truck bed. Door opens up box once you lower the tailgate. When tailgate is closed you can't access the box. Just break rods in half with line still on. You can secure box to bed if you desire
  6. There's Bullshead blood on those hooks Gary (and maybe some BC trout blood)
  7. Great bugs Don. Thanks for sharing
  8. I'm curious if the fish eat this as a real "fancy egg". Seems to be just the right color
  9. Love the Waiparous shot. Thanks for sharing your views
  10. You are turning into quite the lake guy....gear/boats/flies. Cutts are going to dis-own you. Have a look here: http://flyguys.net/fly-patterns/chironomids/john-kents-top-ten-chironomid-patterns Bring a throat pump next spring and your camera to record what you see New experiment
  11. Green day
  12. What about the worm?????????????? Best "fly" on the Bow
  13. Parachute looks tasty
  14. Great ties fellas. They look far too purtty to get wet. Terry I like your mice. I think Mule deer would be a better color for you...I'll remember to put in for a doe tag next year
  15. Awesome story Gary. In truth, my friends usually say I do everything wrong and I hear "that will never work" a lot. Good thing I never learned to read. The guy with the button does exist...he is still trying to learn me after a couple of decades of frustration
  16. I fish with a guy who has a "no autographs please" button on his vest...He is the pro. I am just passing on what he teaches me. We hardly ever catch any fish, but we always do things exactly like they teach in the official fly fishing book.
  17. That is not proper streamer fishing technique Mr. Troutlover and therefore all those fish you catch in that manner do not count. Streamers with black marabou tails seem to work at the end of sink tips or full sinking lines in the winter. Cold water slows trout metabolism down so they don't have to eat as often and tend to be more sluggish in winter. That just means you need to get your fly more in their face (that's why that Troutlover guy serves up his clouser at them under an indicator). If you swing flies through the right type of water at the right depth/speed you can still get quite a few in the winter
  18. Have a great Christmas all. Enjoy your family and be grateful for all the blessings in this life.
  19. Counting 1.5x water depth is usually a very good rule of thumb. The theory is that fish can't see the fluro, so why not use as heavy of material as you can get away with. I've used 10lb Berkley transition for years. I feel it is the fly more than the leader that matters...especially at depths past about 13ft
