  1. Always WAY too many! Last lake I went to I had about 9 boxes of flies with me. I used 1 fly. But there are days when a guy needs to look in a number of different boxes to try and improve the odds.
  2. Now they are Pine coulee Reservoir. Someone said they saw one caught in the Bow by Fish Creek Park. Bugs are going to be in trouble
  3. I just use a floating, aqualux and type 6 or 7. You could have 2 floating lines, one for dry flies with 12ft leader, one for indicator fishing with 25ft leader.
  4. These fish are also in the Bow River below the Bassano Dam. Here is some video from down by Hays
  5. Water level has dropped at Weed lake. There are stranded, dead carp left on the grass. Some are around 3lb. Hope the gulls like them
  6. They get to about 3lb. I'm sure once their population explodes in the Red Deer river the native fishes won't be to excited about them
  7. Don't worry...chironomids usually only about 80% of the diet...nothing serious
  8. Did you try some #16 chironomids?
  9. Talked to a guy yesterday that said Weed lake just north of Langdon is teeming with Prussian carp. Sounds like they are all through the irrigation system downstream from Chestemere toward the Red Deer River. I imagine the herons like them Look just like this:
  10. Sorry BA, I thought south of Calgary was vague enough. The Dr took a great picture

    Bone/bull

Congrats on a new species! Was the bonefish fight everything you were expecting?
  12. Excellent! Soon you'll be the net boy for all the young fellas
  13. Great fish. Are they of the Palmer variety?
  14. Don't watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mVsK5df-PI
  15. Hunting a tarpon over 60lb with a new rod could be a place to "invest" your money. There was a recent report of a bonefish trip in the international section that sounds like a lot of fun. Giant trevally on Christmas Island
  16. There used to be a nice deep run below Stanley park that was home to some slough sharks
  17. Happy Birthday Sir! Now you can join the Ancient Geezer's Fishing Team with the old farts down by Lethbridge
  18. Good show Steve. You must have the fish named by now. Don't scare my elk!
  19. 12-15lb leader that is 3-4ft long never seems to be a problem for me. Usually good to get the fly down near the bottom so use appropriate sink tip or weighted flies
  20. We are so blessed to live close to such beauty. Thanks for sharing your adventures
  21. Great pics, thanks for sharing
  22. Anybody use one of these rods? reviews?
